I have a seven-day Germany interrail pass, but am starting in Luxembourg the day I'm starting the pass. Is it valid between Wasserbillig and Igel, or would I need a separate ticket? I know public transport in Luxembourg's generally free and the individual ticket's €1.80, but as it isn't explicitly mentioned on the Interrail website whilst Salzburg, Brussels etc. are it's probably better to check first.

On another note, is there any way to make DB seat reservations online without logging in to their website - that doesn't seem to be working for me? Thank you.

Should be valid from the actual border. And Lux to the border.

"continue as guest" is an option but it still requires your name.

You can make DB reservations via ÖBB (Austrian Railways) without logging in. I did it recently for an ICE trip wholly within Gernany on the ÖBB phone app.

To be honest don't bother with reservations. If train packed sit in buffet and order a coffee, still cheaper than a reservation I believe. Of all the times I've been to Germany can count on one hand the amount of IC/ICE trains I couldn't get a seat on.

A couple of decades only DB advised " don't go out without one on Fridays and Sundays" - referring of course to reservations :)
On other days (and away from the main weekly-commute flows) I certainly wouldn't bother if travelling alone.
