Police are called regarding a group of youths, one with a firearm, which turned out to be a water pistol


A report came in just before 8pm on Sunday, May 38 after a concerned member of the public believed the group to be in possession of a gun in Exeter Crescent in Bournemouth town centre.

The kids were found in the KFC at the Triangle and a witness said he saw around five police in the takeaway restaurant.

The suspected gun turned out to be a water pistol.

Police bodycam footage shows the moment a driver drove up a tow truck ramp at full speed on a US highway, sending her vehicle flying through the air.
While landing, the car crashed into another vehicle that was travelling in the same direction.
Lowndes County Sheriff’s officers were already at the scene attending to a crash on the other side of the road, and rushed to the aid of the driver. A deputy was hit by some debris and sustained minor injuries.
The driver - a 21-year-old woman - survived the crash, but was hospitalised with serious injuries. She is in a stable condition, Good Morning America reported.
It's not yet clear what the direct cause of the crash was, but police told told local media the accident is a good example of the importance of observing Georgia's Move Over Law. This law requires drivers in the lane next to the shoulder to change lanes when emergency or utility vehicles stop on the side of the highway.

An Indian official who made headlines after he drained a dam to retrieve his phone has been fined by the government.
Rajesh Vishwas has been ordered to pay 53,092 rupees ($642; £519) for pumping out millions of litres of water without seeking permission from authorities.
He had dropped the device while taking a selfie and claimed it needed retrieving as it contained sensitive government data.
But he has been accused of misusing his position.
The food inspector dropped his Samsung phone, worth about 100,000 rupees, into Kherkatta Dam in the central Indian state of Chhattisgarh last week.
After local divers couldn't find the phone, he paid for a diesel pump to be brought in, Mr Vishwas said in a video statement quoted in the media. The pump ran for several days, emptying out thousands of litres of water, but by the time the phone was found, it was too waterlogged to work.
At the time, Mr Vishwas had told the media that he had verbal permission from an official to drain "some water into a nearby canal", adding that the official said it "would in fact benefit the farmers who would have more water".

But the authorities suspended Mr Vishwas from his post over the incident. And a few days back, the state irrigation department sent him a letter penalising him for his actions. The BBC has seen a copy of the letter.
It stated that Mr Vishwas had wasted 4.1 million litres of water (880,000 gallons) for his "personal interest" and that he had to pay for the water as well as a penalty of 10,000 rupees for "evacuating water without permission".
It added that his action was "illegal" and "punishable under Chhattisgarh's Irrigation Act".
When first reported, the incident had triggered outrage in the country. Many politicians criticised the official's actions and said that the water could have been put to better use in a country where several regions face water shortages, especially in the scorching summer months.

I looked that law up (Georgia Code, Title 40-6-16). It applies to moving over for emergency/utility vehicles displaying flashing lights. As best as I can tell from the video, the recovery vehicle was stationary in the outside lane, but not displaying any flashing lights. However, the car driver should have spotted the obstruction. Possibly rubber-knecking the original incident.

To be fair, they didn't say that this particular incident was a violation of the statute, just that it provides a good example of why the statute exists in the first place.

True. It also provides a good example of why recovery vehicles stopped in the carriageway should display flashing lights.

Visitors to Weymouth complain about seaweed on the beach

Beachgoers say they are being put off Weymouth beach because of the amount of seaweed on its famous golden sands.


The beach has been branded 'slimy' and 'smelly' by visitors to the town.
And there have been reports of children in tears because they don’t want to go through the seaweed.
The complaints have come as people have flocked to the resort during a spell of fine weather.
Weymouth Town Council says it has made a 'conscious decision' not to remove the seaweed which 'supports its commitment to preserving the ecosystem's integrity'.

The start of the singer's world tour in Sweden last month sparked such a frenzy of demand for hotels and restaurant meals that it has shown up in the country's economic statistics.
Sweden reported higher-than-expected inflation of 9.7% in May.
Rising prices for hotels and restaurants were behind the surprise.
Michael Grahn, economist at Danske Bank, said he thought Beyonce helped drive the majority of those gains. She may also have been the force behind the unexpectedly strong uptick in recreation and culture prices, he said.
"I wouldn't ... blame Beyonce for [the] high inflation print, but her performance and global demand to see her perform in Sweden apparently added a little to it," he wrote in an email to the BBC.
There is little doubt that the singer's first solo tour in seven years marks a big economic moment. At least one estimate suggests the run could gross almost £2bn by the time it ends in September.
Searches for accommodations in cities on the tour shot up after it was announced, Airbnb reported. Tickets for many concerts sold out within days and prices soared on the resale market.
In the UK, 60,000 people descended on Cardiff, including fans from Lebanon, the US and Australia. Demand for hotel rooms tied to her concert in London was so strong that in at least one hotel, some homeless families being housed there by the local council were reportedly booted to make way for her fans.
The Stockholm concerts, where Beyonce played to a crowd of 46,000 for two nights, reportedly drew fans from around the world - especially the US, where a strong dollar against the krona helped to make tickets in the Nordic country seem a relative steal.
In an email to the Washington Post last month, Visit Stockholm described the boom in tourism to the city as the "Beyonce effect" .
Inflation in Sweden peaked at 12.3% in December. The 9.7% rate last month was down from 10.5% in April, official figures show.
For one star to have such an impact is "very rare", Mr Grahn told the BBC, adding that big soccer tournaments can have a similar effect.
He wrote on social media that he expected trends to return to normal in June.

Cows are invading Cambridge City Centre. Cyclists objected to dismounting when crossing cattle grids, so they were redesigned, but the cattle soon learned to cross them

Cows managed to escape and roam free on a bike path in Cambridge after exploiting newly installed cattle grids designed to help cyclists.
The low-profile design of the bovine barriers meant cyclists no longer had to dismount when crossing them.
But the cows also found a way to cross and many have been seen wandering on the Chisholm Trail in the city.
Cambridgeshire County Council said: "We're working hard with our contractor to solve the situation with the grids."
Cows wandering on commons in Cambridge has been a familiar sight for centuries and sees them come into regular close contact with passers-by and park users.
But the grids are intended to ensure they remain in the green spaces

Two of the world's most high-profile technology billionaires - Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg - have agreed to fight each other in a cage match.
Mr Musk posted a message on his social media platform Twitter that he was "up for a cage fight" with Mr Zuckerberg.
Mr Zuckerberg, the boss of Facebook and Instagram parent company Meta, then posted a screenshot of Mr Musk's tweet with the caption "send me location".
"The story speaks for itself," a Meta spokesperson told the BBC.
Mr Musk then replied to Mr Zuckerberg's response with: "Vegas Octagon."
The Octagon is the competition mat and fenced-in area used for Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bouts. The UFC is based in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Mr Musk, who turns 52 later this month, also tweeted: "I have this great move that I call "The Walrus", where I just lie on top of my opponent & do nothing."
He also tweeted: "I almost never work out, except for picking up my kids & throwing them in the air."
Meanwhile, 39-year-old Mr Zuckerberg has already been training in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and has recently won Jiu-Jitsu tournaments.

After pressure from religious groups, Polish bus route 666 to Hel has been renumbered 669.
I don't recall issues with the London trolleybus route of the same number

Tourists taking the highway to Hel will no longer be able travel on bus route 666 after religious groups said the reference to "the number of the beast" - viewed by some as a harmless joke - was "Satanic stupidity".

The seaside resort in Poland is popular with holidaymakers for its remote beaches and forest trails - a far cry from the fiery pit of eternal damnation evoked by its name.

The 22 mile-long (35km) Hel peninsula in northern Poland is said to be one of the most beautiful and unspoilt parts of the Baltic coast.

Locals have long seen the funny side of the name with the bus route, referencing the number of the beast, viewed by many as a "harmless joke".

But transport operator PKS Gdynia has decided to change the name of the route to 669 after being bombarded with complaints from Christian groups and individuals for almost 10 years.

Reminds me of the sheep around Marsden in West Yorkshire, who somehow worked out a clever way of getting over cattle grids by laying down and rolling across... yet sheep are widely regarded as being quite stupid animals.

Picture shows a llama in a field
The owner of a llama is being sought after it was seen wandering in an Aberdeenshire field.
The Scottish SPCA said the llama was spotted near the new Pitsligo area.
The animal charity said it went out to investigate and found the llama but it was difficult to catch.
"Llamas are herd animals so it will likely be quite stressed out by being in the field alone," Scottish SPCA animal rescue officer Debbie Gibson said.
"We have been in touch with the locals in the area to try and identify the owner but we have had no luck so far.
"We would like to try and find their owner in the hope they can assist us with catching.
"If anyone recognises this llama, they should call our helpline on 03000 999 999."
