I would like to assure you that this was the first and only time such an incident has occurred.
If you purchased your ticket using an app, they will likely be able to check you purchase history. If you say this and they have found you've previously purchased discounted tickets with no railcard it won't look good. You need to make sure you're being truthful in anything you say in response.

You also need to check how many times you have avoided the fare before, as it is possible the train company will come after you for those fares. And you will need to have an explanation ready as to why you have avoided those fares if they decide to confront you about it.

I have booking history with railcard bit is this explanation valid?- mostly bookings made by me for my friend ( always has a valid railcard) and came to see me when I shifted, most of them are to london and she lives there

The Company may be suspicious of why someone would carry a photo of someone else's Railcard on their phone, ready to present to an inspector.
