[Trivia] Bigger stations served by the fewest TOCs

Inspired by Smaller stations served by the most TOCs, which are the biggest stations on the Great Britain mainland served by the fewest TOCs? For this we're going by platform count again - there are very busy urban stations served by a small number of TOCs with lots of passengers.

I'd have thought that Scotland, Wales, Anglia Land and Northern Land might be happy hunting grounds here. There must be plenty with with 4 platforms and 1 TOC - you just need an interchange between two lines both served by one TOC, or somewhere with a bay platform or two. Examples include Blackburn, Paisley Gilmour Street, Kilmarnock, Ipswich - there must be many more. I was hopeful for Shipley with its 5 platforms but there is a daily LNER each way so 2 TOCs.

Are there any with 5 or more and just 1 TOC? What is the highest number of platforms for 2 or 3?

Yes, a year ago.

In terms of most used station with only one TOC calling there then London Waterloo is the obvious winner.

Outside of London the busiest station with one operator is Brighton if you count GTR as a single operator. If GTR is not counted as a single operator then the busiest station outside London with a single operator is Liverpool Central.

Fenchurch Street, Marylebone, Cannon Street and Charing Cross would all be fairly good shouts up in London. East Croydon is another one TOC station with high figures.

I didn't realise the Highlander had a passenger stop at Queen Street Low Level - has it always had this?

Of course, until recently the sleeper was the same TOC as the rest of the services, I wonder if this will be the case again with it being renationalised.

Fairly sure that in the past you would always have had to schlep out to Dalmuir at daft o'clock to catch the Sleeper from London Euston to Fort William or vice-versa.

Fairly sure that in the past you would always have had to schlep out to Dalmuir at daft o'clock to catch the Sleeper from London Euston to Fort William or vice-versa.

At least in 2014 there used to be an early morning Queen Street - Westerton service to connect with the sleeper at Westerton as it bypassed Queen Street. Didn't it get re-routed via Bathgate due to the various upgrade works on the line via Polmont + Falkirks, with the call at Queen Street (Pick up only heading west, set-down only heading towards London)
