I am quite a fan of the GE Universal/U-Boat family of locomotives with the GE U18C (CC201) being my favorite. I am a bit gutted these were never used in the UK, but looking at some U-Boat types the other day it came to my surprise that a GE UM6B is heading to the UK. It is a 2ft gauge locomotive but it is the around size of the Class 08 albeit a bit longer. I don't really know much information on it so if anyone knows where its going, or what its being used for will be useful. I won't be surprised if it's gauge gets changed too as the U-Boats are built for multiple loading gauges, and track gauges from the small 2ft gauge, to the large 5ft 6in gauge. I think most UK 2ft railways it wont fit through bridges and tunnels either.

SAR class 91, used originally on the Avontuur line in South Africa.

They're essentially a small 3'6" gauge loco running on 2ft gauge bogies, and could even be fitted with 3'6" bogies to take themselves off for overhaul when needed. The Guy who is importing it is on instagram as @darnall_loco
