Hi all, new to the forum and a bit worried.

Last week I took a train to Liverpool street on the Stansted express from Harlow town. I got to the Liverpool Street station and didn't have a ticket so bought one from one of the earlier stops. An officer then questioned me heavily and I incriminated myself multiple times. I'm pretty sure they had info that I purchased the ticket moments before. I gave my real address and name which he checked and verified.

They then read me some sort of " you do not have to say anything which will later used as evidence in court"

I panicked and then didn't give any information to the forms they filled in which for every question just put "did.not want to answer".but he had verbal proof my story wasn't straight and they had it on video recording from bodycam.

This is not the first time I have done this (maybe 5/10 times over a few years) but never been caught, but after reading other posts can see they can check your history of online tickets which I had no idea about. Seems against gdpr to me, but that's another conversation and obviously it's not if they can do it.

What can I expect? Fines? Court? I feel pretty awful about it tbh.

Thanks so much in advance

Its most definitely not against GDPR, but this has been covered in other threads so won't go into that here.
They will most likely investigate your previous history and send you a letter of what they belive you owe them, plus an admin fee on top.

Two small points. They have six months, effectively, to contact you, but letters usually seem to take between two and six weeks to arrive. As you need to answer promptly in order to have a chance of getting the best outcome, should you move before the letter arrives you should either arrange a Royal Mail Redirection Order or have someone reliable send your post on to you. The same applies if you are away for more than a couple of days.
