Can confirm it was indeed those three. A couple of photos for anyone interested:

Looking like the yellow trio are almost ready to return to service.. although that probably just means the incredibly tatty pair of 43290/299 will just transfer from NR to Colas to join their fleet on the other test trains.

Colas haven't been in any hurry to retrieve 37219 from Crianlarich. The PLPR had power cars on it the last time it was up here as well. The end of 37s on departmental trains?

Not for the forseeable. I think 37219 has been a special case with just how tricky a recovery job it is. There's still plenty of places that 37s can go where 43s can't. On the Scotland PLPR circuit, for instance, Maryport to Carlisle is banned to 43s so long diversions via the WCML are needed in each direction. There's just such a shortage of 37s (largely down to the amount of short term contract extensions NR were giving Colas, so when they actually got the long term contract last year the 37 fleet had been run into the ground) that the 43s are having to pick up a lot of slack. I gather there are some plans to try and get some of the class 43 restrictions lifted, but that's not a quick process.

Regarding 43079, that was a former Landore based powercar.
Is it confirmed that it is being/already has been scrapped?

It went into Sims on 10th January, it hasn’t come out again since and Newport don’t hang around in dispatching stuff, so draw your own conclusions!

Not sure what update @TrainTrackJack was going to post but there was news on WNXX yesterday regarding 43052, it's currently being stripped for spares at Nemesis Rail and its cab, thought to be destined for 43054, has been removed, there is also a report today that 086, 087 & 196 have been moved from Laira to Newport Sims by road

43052 has indeed had its cab removed to be placed on 43054, and is being stripped of all usable parts before being disposed of. 43086 / 087 / 196 are being taken by road as you rightly mentioned to Newport Docks from Laira.

43196 is confirmed to be in the South Wales, the other 2 have been seen on the A38 heading out of Devon so presumably they are all at the Docks compound.

Cant say I'm surprised, 195 & 180 have both done well to last as long as they have done (I'm surprised others went ahead of 180 to be honest!).
Various parts from either will now live on as the team behind 43018 at Crewe were recently in Laira receiving parts for their cosmetic restoration.

43043/064 have been removed from Long Marston to Sims, Newport yesterday and today.
According to my records those were the last two at Long Marston. Is that correct?
Also, going by Carl Watson's excellent photo site, 43083 is little more than a shell at Eastleigh, having donated it's bogies to something else, I presume one of LSL's fleet.

That’s correct. Porterbrook now have no off-lease HST vehicles.

There always were rumours about it going to the 1:1 museum at Margate, before LSL put the Pullman back into service. I am guessing that is still the case and maybe it will receive worn bogies on scrap wheels, with maybe a ton of scrap metal in the engine bay.

My notes, almost certainly wrong, still have 43045 and 43060 at Long Marston. Have these moved on (to Newport)?

I think these two are now at the NVR.
43045 & 43060 are definitely not at Long Marston - both Power Cars are now owned by 125 Preservation and live at Railword Peterborough (connected to, but not part of the Nene Valley Railway).
