Do you mean the train you booked to travel on has been cancelled, rather than your booking? And what journey are you making?
I was travelling from Bournemouth to London Waterloo. The email from SWR states Your journey schedule for future travel has changed. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
When I click on the button called "Check Your Journey" to see my options there are no alternative trains listed at all.

As you can see here: http://timetablehistory.com/Station.aspx?StationID=1997&Date=08/05/2023 on 22 March SWR removed virtually every train to / from Waterloo for 8th May. It's now four days later, during which there have been no trains added back. Given that this is the Coronation Bank Holiday weekend, and people will be wanting to make plans, this is ridiculous.
Monday 8th is a bank holiday so a Saturday service should be in operation - from a data perspective this means cancelling the entire 'normal' Monday timetable and replacing it with new trains that match the Saturday timetable. What will have happened here is the Monday cancellations being uploaded by Network Rail, but I imagine work isn't complete yet on their end on validating the new Saturday plan against other operators, so that hasn't been uploaded yet - leading to the unfortunate situation of nothing at all showing as running at the moment. There will certainly be trains running that day, it might just be a few weeks more before they appear in booking systems.

If you go to this page on the SWR website and open the second item for Saturday 6th to Monday 8th May, all will be explained. Major engineering works at Basingstoke, it would seem.

That's for the 7th May. The day in question here is Monday 8th May. Only engineering works at Teddington are mentioned on that page for 8th May.

This is why Network Rail are supposed to freeze changes about 14 weeks out, and the Rail Operators update their schedules about 13 weeks out. So that all fares and staff rosters can be agreed and bookings opened for full 12 weeks.
The Coronation bank holiday on 8th May was announced nearly 5 months ago, early November, so not recently. Not great that 20 weeks on, just 6 weeks to go, still haven't sorted it

This kind of situation is shambolic and quite unacceptable. It gives people no faith in travelling by train, and for very good reason.
There was also this very recent thread about SWR seemingly not updating the journey planners until the day of travel:

I don't know what needs to be done exactly, but the industry needs to get on top of this. At a guess, no-one is taking proper ownership of these kind of issues, and there's not enough pride in ensuring a timely planning of altered services.
