Had computer tests today, and passed thankfully. Really not confident with the MMI interview but I guess you never know with these things.. I did give it my best shot so have to wait and see now
If you answered all the questions with good details and all of the probing questions then I'm sure you'll be fine.

Anyone still waiting for an invite to the paper tests? Applied in September for Chester, was told I was shortlisted in November and to await tests dates but nothing since, have chased it up but just told they will be in touch. Is it just pot luck when you get chance to do the tests or is there some kind of marking system on the applications? If it is luck of the draw then hardly seems fair that some have gone through the process and started jobs before others have had chance to sit the tests and now be more likely to sit in the talent pool if successful!

Got an email a couple of days ago saying they were still checking NI details…
They will be plenty of people still awaiting testing, this is a major recruitment drive for positions across the whole year. They won't try and test/interview everyone prior to offering roles as training started in January, would be impossible to get through everyone by that point.
The talent pools are not 'first in - first out', so don't think that you've missed out on some opportunities.

Noticed a few people on here have done several DMIs. I was just wondering where you thought you went wrong first time around? What mistakes did you make and what did you change to get through? (Sounds like a DMI question )
I'm my first, the feedback was that they didn't think I'd prepared very well. I actually had several pages of notes but clearly didn't come across very well.
2nd, only generic feedback was given but I think the style of the interviewers (being very casual and chatty) meant I was chatty back, probably to the point were I said too much and wasn't clear enough in my answers.
I will keep applying though, hopefully at some point I'll pass the DMI stage!

Found out on Wednesday 17/03. I was told that they were waiting for more people in the pool to fill up training courses so not sure when thatll be.

I was probed on a few of them and thought because of that, I must be missing the mark. However there was a question about the emergency situation that I felt my answer was robust and very safe but I was probed and probed and I thought it might be because they were wondering if I would backtrack on it?
The girls who do it are recruitment so they have set questions to ask. They want to tick all parts of the answer against their criteria, so will keep asking to make sure your answer is good enough. If you can answer all their probing ones you'll be fine

I found out I passed the DMI 18th January, for Shrewsbury depot - still waiting with no news yet, so you're not alone that's for sure.

Got an email on 15th March that I've been shortlisted for Crewe - any idea what happens next? 'Paper Assessment Day' - what does this entail? The HR email is pretty devoid of information. Applied on 19th September!

Well done for getting through. You will wait a couple of weeks now and then you will get dates and times inviting you for the paper assessments. Once you have said yes and you get on one you will receive a booklet via email in pdf to be printed out. This will contain all the info needed for the paper assessment stage

Last week I applied for the current trainee jobs in Cardiff and managed to submit it in time before they closed the process. I am now awaiting the result and if I’m successful this will be my second time I would have gone through the process.
I applied back back year, got through the application, the first set of tests (paper) and then dipped at the computer tests, more specifically the 30 minute concentration test of watching the square change colour. I was just after some advice really as I have now applied again I want to be certain on a few things and would be grateful if any help, mainly
1. I understand you can only take the group bourdon tests and fail twice before no longer being able to apply again. Are the computer tests classed as part of the group bourdon? My understanding is that it is only the paper dot tests this applies to.
2. I had a bizarre experience with the concentration test, i.e the square changing colour. At the start and probably up until the last 3 minutes of the test I had no issue, it was easy enough to see when it changed colour and to tap the button, pure concentration but no issues. If I then remember correctly (as this was back in last June!) it started doing something bizarre like staying black for long periods of time then changing to grey and just seems to be doing the opposite of what it had been doing for the previous 27 mins or so and I think this is where I got confused and failed it. Has anyone else experienced this? It just seemed very odd as up until those last few minutes I definitely know I had no issues with it.
