I see Tim Shoveller, lead negotiator for Network Rail in the current industrial dispute with the RMT, is to become CEO of Genesee & Wyoming UK and Europe, which includes Freightliner.
His day job at the moment is MD of NR's North West & Central Region, one of the top jobs in NR.
I believe he would have been expected to play a significant role in the new GBR, having had both infrastructure and TOC senior management experience, but evidently he has sidestepped that opportunity to join the private sector.

Are there any suggestions as to who will replace him at NR?
Or maybe it's an opportunity to revise the Regional NR structure in line with GBR plans.

This includes British rail freight operator Freightliner, Freightliner Poland, shunting operator Rotterdam Rail Feeding and container logistics company Pentalver.
Shoveller is expected to join by late summer 2023, succeeding Becky Lumlock, who is a UK-based operating partner at G&W shareholder Brookfield Infrastructure and has been interim CEO since Eddie Aston left in September 2022.
Shoveller began his rail career as a British Rail guard at Guildford in 1992, and has held roles including Managing Director of Stagecoach’s Rail Division, MD of the South West Trains/Network Rail Alliance and MD of East Midlands Trains. He joins G&W from Network Rail, where he is currently MD North West & Central Region.
