Right I just saw that too that was you, but I do read from somewhere it said about 50% applicants were women forgot where, I will try look it up and share

Mate he didn't say he had his test results back from THIS recruitment.
He was mentioning when he did in the last recruitment the time scale of when he recieved his results.
He is in the Talent pool, his process is complete, he doesn't need to be here.
Hes just trying to help you guys because you're all like rabid rabbits right now.

All the stages of recruitment are on the Avanti site.
You're all in stage 1 and 1.5.
Stage 2 clearly states if successful you will be invited for the VSE and M7

The OPC questionnaire was brutal as it's so 'fluffy' and I would personally much rather fail at the next round of tests, which are more technical!

At the end of the day we're all here to help, but when you see this thread and 50% of the content is the same questions being asked, it comes across as though people are in a fanatical frenzy.
Rather than take a breather or read the thread/posts properly or simply just use initiative (which I might add is a very important NTS to have), its creating unnecessary repetition and confusion.

You have to realise a whole Media/Communications team would have had several meetings and brainstorms to put those steps on the recruitment site, someone didn't wake up one day and decide to do it on their own.
They didn't do it to confuse people. Its literally a step-by-step guide simple enough to follow.
I understand the nerves and excitement people have, I get it. But people asking "when will we hear back" (A. However long it takes, none of us work for OPC) or "what stage are we on" (A. Stage 1/1.5) are questions that we should know the answer to based on previous posts and the information published and provided by Avanti.

If you’re answering what you think they want to see and not what you actually think is correct, then you will eventually be found out at some point in the process.

I was honest tbf, but some questions where obvious as to what the response should be..

100% and if anyone dishonest about it they will find out on the interview phase and could mark you for dishonesty for life as far as I know

One of the questions was relating to being a trainee driver.

For both of the questions where you had to rate three most likely and three least likely (I think they were tasks and non-technical skills) I answered as if I was a trainee and not an actual driver..oops! Never mind what will be will be

If it said trainees then I’m sure that’s what it will have meant. it all comes down to attention to detail. If you picked up on the trainee part and others didn’t, that’s where it could benefit you. I wouldn’t stress over it.

The skills required of a trainee train driver versus a qualified train driver are virtually identical, with the same NTS priorities for both. Both drive trains and undertake continuous learning and development, so I wouldn't worry too much in that regard.

It’s a difficult one because it said “..most important/relevant for driving as part of the trainee train driver role” so it said for driving first but then said it’s for the trainee role which was in bold. Who knows. Time will tell.

Way too much overthinking going on.

As Archvile has said above, the skills / competencies are pretty much identical. There’s no secrets or tricks in the tests.

The entire recruitment process revolves around the NTS that are specified in the adverts. Have these in mind and you will be fine.

The only part where I feel I may have slipped up is answering the ‘3 least important things’ for a driver when driving a train.

I chose customer focussed answers as I felt all the other options were driving related.
