Diverts via GNGE Joint Line 16th and 17th May

It is understood that the ECML is closed between Peterborough and Doncaster on Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th May and all trains will be diverted via the Joint Line.
Does anyone know the reason for these weekday diversions please ?

More engineering work is being done in midweek possessions on the ECML.
There is also another midweek possession later this year with trains going via Swinderby and Gainsborough, and also a Monday to Friday currently planned for next January (8th to 12th) with trains going via Cambridge, (though nothing south of Peterborough on the 13th/14th).
