As the 09.06 Kings Cross to York arrived at Doncaster at 11.00 a class 91 was visible being loaded onto a low loader road vehicle. I could not see the front part of the loco so the number was not visible to me. However, as 91131 has moved from where it was positioned on Sunday I think it is a fair assumption that it is the loco on the low loader.

91 131 heading north along M74 at Gretna 0830 Thursday morning ( On a low loader !)

Just starting the offload process and will be put safely into the yard prior to movement into the museum.

It's been a long road but it's finally here!
Full marks for the museum staff to progress this all the way for the last couple of years (yes.. it's been that long). Now just to move half the collection so we can get it into its new spot.

That looks more like one individual than a group per se. Even on there it's not exactly optimistic. The fact there's a consideration of buying 90050 says all that's needed.

Given they seem to be the "Early Prototype and One Offs Electric Loco Group" and aren't interested in 86s or 87s, that's not really a surprise.

What is its spot in the museum to be please? Will be renewing my annual ticket for the family as always - can just about remember where the 84 was!

There is a general plan for next weekend, but personally I'd have thought that when the railtour stock is away up to Kyle gives more space.
I was in the 91 today, first time in the blunt cab! Strangely the digital clock in the pointy end was actually 30 mins out - I'd have thought maybe an hour out due to BST but this was strange.....

That can happen easily if they run a wee bit fast or slow. One of my relations had a car for a few years with a very lazy clock in the stereo system - you'd set it to the correct time when daylight savings started, and by the time the clocks went back it would have lost the entire hour all by itself :lol:

Confirmed now that shunting will take place on Monday onwards - the 91 is at the NE corner of the site, and the move will take the Marquis out, move the 91 and LNER sleeper into the museum, and generally move exhibits around to freshen up the visitor experience.
We will also be moving some of the spare bogies and wheelsets to a storage area making yard shunts easier.
There will also be the Railtour stock returning ECS and that needs remaking for the BLS trip in the week. Definitely a lot going on, though much of the museum shunt is not easily visible from the public areas such as the footbridge, with the site closed to the public until the museum reopens.

Sounds a fascinating challenge BigB. Must admit when my other interests stop (ex-work) I'd love to volunteer - if I'm still on the 'toonie' by then. Can thank my Grandad for early 80's trips to Bridge of Dun by Brechin for the interest i think!

For general viewings 91131 out enjoying the sun on what has been a lovely day!

It is still at Bo'ness and the currently owners Lenz are still - occasionally - working on it.
Before anyone asks, I've no idea about future plans.....
