They said it could be this year or next year when I had my interview. I'm not getting my hopes up though. Although someone from this recruitment drive is starting their training course this month for Euston and they did their psychometrics in December too so it's anyone's guess.
Yeah, I got a similar email initially saying that training courses could be this year or next.
I did enquire mid Feb and was told that the next one was most likely the back end of May but that they would aim to give 3 months notice.
Considering I applied in Jan 22, passed all tests by April, had to wait till Jan 23 for DMI - I never imagined the process to be so drawn out.

Which depot did you apply for? Have you still not been given a start date?

Yeah I’ve noticed that a lot of people in this thread appear to have unrealistic expectations. I work on the railway and have seen people wait 3 years from being told they were in the talent pool to been given their start date. I was always under the impression that this could take years. It’s better this way, that way, if you do get called early, it’s a happy surprise rather than drawn out disappointment.

It’s unlikely that most people who applied in OCT 22 will be on a course this year. If it happens then great but people should really lower their expectations and just take it as it comes.

That's a fair point, I was just going off what they said in the interview and that someone has already got a start date from the October 22 recruitment drive.

I agree, it's definitely best not to get hopes up about starting this year especially when the Crewe depot isn't even up and running yet which I'm assuming will effect my start date with me applying for Manchester. To be honest I'm not too bothered when I get a start date just as long as I don't end up waiting around for 2 years and then nothing come of it.

Also, I think with Avanti using the CBI interview you can't even apply for other positions because if you do the MMI interview for another company am I correct in saying it overrides your CBI?

I'm in the Manchester pool. They said they'd update us once all the interviews have been completed.

Hopefully it shouldn't be too much longer, I think they did some more interviews on 3rd but there's still more to complete as far as I'm aware.
Hey Ex2215... how long did you wait to find out about your DMI result? I sat mine last Friday and would just love to know if I made it to the pool or not?

Received the news earlier that pending passing a medical, I’ll be starting my training at the end of May. I’m absolutely over the moon and can’t wait to get started!

Great news bud. What depot you going for?
Cheers mate, it’s been a long wait due to other applications getting put on hold due to Covid over the last few years. I’ll be at Euston.

Hey guys, just got my DMI interview date via email. Sat my CBI early December. The email did not end up in my junk/spam folder this time. Fingers crossed they work through those of you awaiting dates soon as well.
