Hi all.. Here is a question....

The down sleeper from Inverness was cancelled to London Euston last night.
The up sleeper from London Euston to Inverness was cancelled @ Edinburgh..

Now I'm going to aviemore tonight, to sample the cheiftain back down.

I'm booked out of Watford Junc @ 2133, will scotrail have the stock to form the service, as im thinking that the highland sleeper, only came down from scotland last night as the aberdeen and fort william portions last night, so that stock will go back up tonight, do they have spare coaches around at wembley or not?

have tweeted scotrail. but as yet no reply. what's everyone's take on this?

The stock may have still come down to form the service. It may have already been at Edinburgh. Hopefully that'll be the case. Assuming it was only the Inverness portion that was cancelled? or was the whole southbound train cancelled?
There is possibly a problem on the line, as the northbound terminated at Edinburgh. According to Scotrail last nights Aberdeen section was diverted via Stirling.

OK, having deleted the bit i put about the loco maybe being the culprit, apparently it was a problem on the line, according to Scotrail on Twitter. This is now cleared. Nothing about anymore sleepers being affected.
Hopefully the Northbound Stock can be brought down from Edinburgh to London during the day.

Well I may have you on my train tomorrow (I hope I don't as it means there will be a problem for you - as I'm taking the Aberdeen portion up) - this morning we had pax for Inverness & Aviemore on the ABD portion - they had to travel via Elgin as the HGL main line was shut north of Perth. Pax for Perth & Pitlochry also travelled on the ABD portion and alighted at Dundee.

Hope it all goes well for you. Good luck.

The Highland Main Line was closed last night between Aviemore and Blair Athol due to heavy snow blocking the line. The ECS move may have went via Aberdeen earlier today. Don't know though.

Best of luck anyway. Had one boy on this morning who had just come up to do the "Thornton North Curve" hope his plans were not scuppered.

The easiest thing would have been to keep the stock thats in Inverness up there, and send the stock that terminated in Edinburgh back down to London.

They currently have you arriving crewe shortly after 1910.
Then you have a 1923 or 1929. Both get you into Euston with about 10mins to spare!! You could always call Scotrail and say you need to Join at Crewe if your not going to catch those trains.
Shrewsbury wont help you at all.

well only past maindee jn. now..

junglejames im booked from watford at 2133.

so it was 1923 crewe arrive wfj 2046

or 1847 shrewsbury to wolverhampton 1936
1945 wolverhampton to watford junction arr 2119.

so i will see what happens at Six. Depending on what happens.

Your now down as 40 late into Crewe. You will possibly just miss 1923.
You have a 1929 from Crewe, changing at Milton Keynes Central, arrive Watford at 2119.
At this rate you will miss 1847 from Shrewsbury

Edit that. You may possibly make the 1923 from Crewe if you dont lose anymore time

You could always go to Llandudno Jn and come back for the sleeper at Crewe.

If you are rushing the Inverness portion is at the very rear of the train. At Watford stand by the 378s. If no carriges stop in this part of the station you have no Inverness portion!

London end of the platform, I should think they will keep last nights Inverness portion at Edinburgh, and start it from there tonight, and all the inv passengers will travel in the other two portions, and change at Waverley.

Yes unfortunately so.

Tbh i cant see them doing that.

The only options are that the Stock that forms 1M16 Inverness-London Euston @ 2046. Will be the Stock that Didnt Come down Yesterday.

And Maybe, Just Maybe They Ran the stock down this Afternoon. I cant see Scotrail. Changing People HalfWay.

and as you said space in the other 2 portions.

Fort William i think is only 2 berth Coaches. I cant remeber how many abderdeen is. Maybe if space is not available. Will Put on Lowland Sleeper. Which is no good to me. Really.

Or last nights northbound Inv portion brought down from Edinburgh. Less movements/ miles then
Anyway, all speculation for now.
