I’ve been collecting European destination signs like the ones shown on the pic below (from carriage interiors) for nigh on 40 years now. I know a few other collectors but they’re all based on the Continent (unsurprisingly!). Just wondering if there are any other UK collectors out there, or if anyone has any (that they might be willing to part with ?).

Nice! Would definitely be interested- do let me know which other ones you have. Not sure if it’s possible to send private messages on here? I‘ll add my email otherwise.

I have three of the large German card ones which were used in the metal frames on the outside of carriages back in the 1980s. I'll dig them out and get back to you by PM asap.

Bloomin heck, how did you get those home? Must have been pretty hard wearing card, my recollection of those is metal.
Mine are from inside the carriage in a slot at the gangway, easily carried in a holdall.

Come to think of it, that's probably where mine are from too....although they're made of thick, heavy, several-ply card and were too big to fit in my holdall. I had to carry them home from Germany under my arm, wrapped in plastic bin bags.

Half expected this to be about taking road signs as souvenirs... As the mayor of a certain Austrian village was famously quoted: "Stop stealing our F***ing signs!"
