Are 153s gangwayed? Actually I notice that there are few, if any, 67s operating today - I'm unfamiliar with the route (staying in Ludlow for the weekend) - are they being deployed elsewhere?Just substituting for a Mk4 set. The trolley service may happen though.
YesAre 153s gangwayed?
RTT simply shows the data that is provided. That doesn't take into account if rolling stock is swapped. This train (see RTT extract attached) purports to have first and standard class, a trolley service and to be pathed at 110mph - have the 153s been upgraded?! 'Interesting' accommodation for a Manchester to Cardiff run.

Thanks.Yes they are.
2 67 diagrams today but 1 now off due to brake issues.
Apart from a Rugby day a couple of weeks back, today was the first day of any Mk4s out on a Saturday. There's planned to be 2 diagrams out, both of which were Mk4s today.Yes, most definitely a substitution!
That service has very poor reliability of being a loco-hauled - I don't think I've seen one on RTT at all in the last two weeks for that 1030 ex Manchester.
It isn't booked Mk4 yet so shouldn't be anyone with first class tickets.Did everyone with first class get to sit in the cabs inbetween the two connected units as their special private cabins?
They're obliged to pay the difference to the standard class fare under the NRCoT.In substitution occurrences like this (reverse in this case) , does TfW have a First Class claim back scheme if First Class is full/unavailable, like Southern?
It may not be diagrammed a Mk4, but it is advertised as having first class in the timetable data.It isn't booked Mk4 yet so shouldn't be anyone with first class tickets.

At least they get a train, unlike on Transpennine.Having just spent a long weekend in Ludlow, I looked at the RTT data for the Marches line and was shocked to see the number of substitions for 67s and rakes - I saw one such working in the flesh, but there were numerous single 150s and lash-ups with 153s covering workings of four hours and more! Grim stuff from TfW. What's the problem with the 67s and Mk4s?
Is it known what the problems are - is the interface between 67s and the DVTs (or even the Mk4s)? From what I saw of the trains at Ludlow, it's hellish, with dwell times greatly increased trying to cram people on. Every train I saw was significantly late.At least they get a train, unlike on Transpennine.
The 67's (and DVT's) have never been particularly reliable with ATW or TFW, running more was a very interesting decision.
The RTT data is effectively showing the 'end-game'. There are only 2 diagrams on a Saturday and 3 on a weekday which mostly run relatively reliably.Having just spent a long weekend in Ludlow, I looked at the RTT data for the Marches line and was shocked to see the number of substitions for 67s and rakes - I saw one such working in the flesh, but there were numerous single 150s and lash-ups with 153s covering workings of four hours and more!
