I was just looking at times for my usual Banbury - Birmingham Friday night journey, and I noticed that there seems to be a pretty pointless ticket available and I'm baffled.
So I searched Banbury - Birmingham stations, outward Friday 11th March, return Sunday 13th March on the East Coast website (I have a Y-P railcard).
Now there is the option for an off-peak return that I usually buy on the day from the station that costs £10.90. However, there is also the option for a £12 off peak return ticket (with railcard discount applied). Now I can't for the life of me see the difference, or any extra conditions associated with this ticket to warrant the extra £1.10. Any idea what it is?
