That sounds like an awful lot of diesels and their drivers hanging about, and a diagramming and rostering nightmare!rather than having a suitable locomotive waiting to take over at Newark (for Lincoln), Doncaster (for Hull), Leeds (for Harrogate), Edinburgh (for Aberdeen), Stirling (for Inverness), Didcot (for Oxford and the Cotswold Line), Swindon (for Gloucester or Bristol), Cardiff (for Swansea) or Newbury (for the West Country - and soon Wolverhampton (for Shrewsbury), Crewe (for North wales), and however far the wires will get on the Midland as well.
