Showers at London Euston station

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone here will be able to answer this query.

In May, I'll be travelling standard class to London Euston from Inverness. As a holder of a Scotrail Advance card, I'm entitled - it says here - to use the First Class Lounges at Scotrail stations. My question is: will I, do you think, be allowed to use the showers in the First Class Lounge at Euston, despite it being operated by Virgin Trains?

I've emailed Virgin to ask them this question; I thought I'd ask it here as well, just to see what people think.

As a secondary - and perhaps more pertinent - question, has anybody here used the showers at Euston? What are they like?

(And as a tiertary question, did I read it correctly that there are also showers at King's Cross?)

Not at Euston you can't as it is a Virgin lounge. The only let. scotrail passengers in with first class tickets. The advance card is too easy to get hold of. The advance only gives access to Scotrail lounges. Yes transport Scotland paid for the shower upgrade at Euston, but it is still virgin still control access.

Euston has showers at a charge for standard.

Yes, just stand under parts of the leaky roof the rain is heavy enough!

But yeah, usually you'll find the showers down near the toilets - that's the situation in Paddington, pretty sure it's the same for all NR Stations...

There are showers for all along the road at Kings Cross, not sure if there are any at St Pancras though.

I can confirm that First Class Caledonian Sleeper customers and Advance Loyalty Club members can use our London Euston First Class Lounge, as can dedicated Caledonian Sleeper Standard Single ticket holders.

Don't think so - it says dedicated sleeper standard single - think that means route Cal Sleeper tickets, not ones with supplement.

I think you are confusing a Standard Single (as in a single ticket in standard class) with a Solo supplement (which, as you say is for Standard class ticket holders to have the sole use of a cabin).

The word 'single' is referring to a single ticket (berth-inclusive) rather than sole ('single') use of a twin cabin.

You can usually save yourself around £15 per night by booking Carstairs to Watford Junction or something Unless it's a Friday night before the school holidays and the train is wedged!

Actually I have just realised I should explain myself here. I was referring to the (fairly well known, I believe!) fact that, unless the train is fully booked, they tend to lump passengers with the same origin / destination together, where practicable, and if you book to/from a more 'exotic' station with less passengers, then there is less chance of someone else being in your cabin. In other words, you book a single strategically in the hope that you get it to yourself. Most times, you will. Unless someone else has the same plan, in which case you can talk about how they found it out on this forum

Yes, i see my mistake now!!
I was still pretty sure normal standard class tickets couldnt use it though.
