The Cardiff-Paignton and return is a pair of Class 150s and the Exeter-Cardiff and return is a 143. If the Cardiff-Taunton services just ran to Taunton like they did until last December it would require 5 units. Now that some services extend to Exeter, Paignton and Plymouth more units are required. Units used are a mixture of 143s, 153s, 150s and 158s. There are no 153s booked to work on their own though. Portsmouth-Cardiff services require 8 units, all booked to be three car Class 158s.

A Cardiff-Pompey round trip is seven hours, 0930 off Cradiff gets back at 1645 so eight units are required, plus two to cover the Brighton runs.
