To be fair though your toc is pretty much up there pay wise.
That’s correct. However, the terms and conditions, the intensity of the work and diagrams definitely isn’t up there. The price of a high salary and a DOO intense inner London network I guess.
Of course I'm aware of the intensity and those short turnaround times. Anyway off topic

When I applied in 2000 the stipulation was that you had to live within 45 minutes travelling time of a London terminus.

It's not that strict now but I don't quite see how you could make it work comfortably living up north...

I wasn't a driver then, I had station roles at both Waterloo & St Pancras. I left to become a driver on the WCML because internal recruitment was not possible.

@baz962 - still have to say thanks for posting the original advert link for my job on here. Been qualified 18 months now.

Why are you even caring about your previous test results???No, they assured us that wasn’t the case! I wouldn’t have risked it if it was that’s for sure

These aren’t just personality tests, they test memory, coordination, multi-tasking etc so yes there very much are wrong answers
You only did those tests to get through to get on a drivers course! They are pretty much irrelevant after you have completed the drivers course and got your licence which has been proved by the fact that Eurostar are not interested in your “advanced pass” with the OPC!
So what use to you is your advance pass when
A. You have a train driving licence
B. A new opportunity has arisen within train driving and your advance pass isn’t good enough!
Companies like Avanti Who only take trainee drivers who get the advance pass rate are only interested in you having a licence and a clean safety file if you apply from another TOC for a qualified driver post!

100% correct! Why somone is so interested in something that is now worthless to them now they have a licence seems very weird to me!

I think its 6. To start in September.
Had mine last week, felt it went ok. No idea if I’m through to the next stage though!
Had mine last Friday felt like it went well but you never truly know. Did anyone ask when we might find out? I figure by the end of next week given the amount of interview.
That's what I was told, by end of next week.
