Hi,
Persons above 70 years of age have got free journeys in "Warszawski Transport Publiczny" - WTP (buses, trams, metro and SKM) - https://www.wtp.waw.pl/en/discount-...unction=10408&wtp_other=&wtp_discount_search=

The SKM Warszawa (www.skm.warszawa.pl) carrier is in the WTP tariff. This is urban railway in Warsaw and the agglomeration.

In the Masovian region run "Koleje Mazowieckie" trains and from Warszawa Śródmieście WKD to Grodzisk Mazowiecki Radońska and Milanówek Grudów run "Warszawska Kolej Dojazdowa" trains.
Under the “Wspólny bilet” (Integrated Ticket) offer, on KM, WKD and interRegio trains entitlements to fare discounts (50% discount) ) and free travel are accepted, in compliance with the applicable regulations on public transport supervised by ZTM - https://www.wtp.waw.pl/en/integrations/ztm-km-wkd-integrated-ticket/

Free travel on the metro too...
You may wish to get an over-70 travel card (free) which requires a photo and an ID. This would give you free travel by Koleje Mazowieckie (KM) and Szybka Kolej Miejska (SKM) trains in and around Warsaw.

Of course there is/are-several.
For local transit, incl KM and SKM trains IN the capital area, the usual offer for 24/48 hrs etc-normal or half price for those who qualify. Covers same area as you as senior. For this passpt is enough. To use metro you have to get a pass-ticket from counter, show passpt. There may also be the touristy more expensive one, incl various entries etc. Dr. google will always deliver that far quicker as posting here and asking.
The various railways have their own offer, the green/cream KM=Mazowieckie trains do most of he suburban routes till quite far around, they have also a 24 hr ticket-buy at counter or perhaps machine, price should be like between 30-40 PLN. In holidays there may even be more offers. This special card for wider area is new to me. Buty now I recall the daytickets also have a variety for a larger area, incl some major towns just around capital area.
This is POland, so its all strictly limited to the relevant company.
BTW=the free travel in local transit applies to most Polish cities, I´ve once done a search for the 15 that also run trams. Mostly from 70, in a few from 65. And for ANYOne, not limited to EU! In 1 or 2 however it was free as such, but one needs to first get a special card or even chipcard from the office, making it out of use for a casual visitor. Or they may even be a yearly charge of a € or 2. Polish cities often have local chipcards for council offers, like also the swimming pool or library, that may also serve for this.
Same free local travel is also available in several Czech cities, best known is of course Praha. But as in PL in some also a special local card must first be got to use it. In HU its nation-wide from 65 but strictly limited to EU-citizens!

In Warsaw at least, a photo ID confirming the age is sufficient for free travel, irrespective of citizenship. or residence The free pass (reusable) opens the metro ticket gates, but you can use the lifts which bypass the gates. BTW, this free pass is not valid on trains.

There is a 24 hour ticket for 49pln that covers the various 'privatised' local operators including WKD- see this page for what's included/excluded, it may be of use. https://www.wkd.com.pl/bilety/informacje-o-ofertach/wspolny-bilet-samorzadowy

For single tickets by rail in Poland, I always use the KOLEO app, it's far simpler than queueing at the 'correct' ticket offices or finding then sussing out the ticket machines. htiou.

When I've been on the Warsaw Metro recently the ticket gates have all been open. That might not be the case now!

Thats very much, yes I got pulled in Hungary last may and fined about £17, which was fair enough, I thought it was still free travel like Poland and Czech cities.
