I have 6.5 hours at Dallas in June between my inward Qantas flight at 12:45 and my outward British Airways flight at 19:15. Is this enough time to leave the airport and have a very brief look at the city?

Thanks

It takes 50 minutes on the Orange line of the DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) system to get from the airport to the city centre, and services run every 10 minutes.

So you should have enough time to get into the city centre and have a quick look around, and perhaps a drink and a bite to eat.

You would want to leave the city centre about 3:30 - 4:00, as you will need to go through security again once you get back to the airport.

Would you not have to undergo US immigration formalities - to put it politely - if leaving the airport?

If it’s like the time we had a layover at Dallas in 2019, we had to do that regardless. We didn’t plan to leave when connecting between Cancun and London Heathrow but had to go landside and then through security again anyway.

It’s not that bad anyway, landing forms on the plane, tell them how long you’re there for and what your plans are, passport, that’s about it.
