KWVR Steam Gala 9/3-12/3

I today happened upon the information for the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway's Steam Gala which takes place Thursday to Sunday in March.

With it being a fairly modest length line and with the state of the economy and the heritage railway sector, I had fairly low expectations. However, I was very impressed at the line-up, which features; 2 Jubilees (Bahamas and Leander), 3 Black 5's, and a further 5 locomotives from the home fleet including the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Ironclad. The weekend will also feature double-heading, a freight demonstration tour and I imagine some Keighley-Ingrow shuttles too.

I've not been to a steam gala for years, but this one interested me so I thought I'd share it here

Yes it should be good, it could produce some impressive photos if the weather is cold which is likely in March. Also plenty of good beer on the line too

Fabulous line up, but I’m always disappointed (not towards the KWVR) that 5690 remains in BR Black.
