RTT suggests HD05 did reach Crewe via Chester, and terminated there.
175 003 picked up the return 1V46 to Cardiff, again via Chester.
I suppose the old diversionary route via Bushbury, which would be a bit quicker, is not used now.
So currently there are zero Mk4s out on passenger services.

I expect HD05 will go onto Crewe CS now as that is what it would have ended up on tonight anyway. Fingers crossed it will be out as planned tomorrow.
HD05 never went to Crewe, it did a set swap and returned to Cardiff on 1V95 and will head to Manchester later on 1W65.
The set in Crewe was decided to keep there due to the signal issues.
There's now 3 sets at Crewe so 2 diagrams will be running off there tomorrow with the first Crewe-Cardiff diagram doing a double round trip and the set off the first Manchester heading to Holyhead and staying there for Monday.
i could be wrong but I dont think there is any booked 150 workings that have booked trolley services, apart from perhaps Sundays when they get booked workings on the marches. Any weekday appearances are almost certainly to be substituting a 175/158 or MK4.
Catering has been quite hit and miss when ive used them recently.

There is one M-F booked 150 on the Marches while Mk4s are bedded in.
Is there catering booked on that one?

It was Prees. Very long section from Prees to Wrenbury so trains tend to get held there. It does show that the MKIVs are capable of keeping to time, so long as nothing else gets in their way......
Stafford is no longer signed by anybody at TfW, so that diversion is no longer available. It was rarely much use - operationally it was nearly always a lot easier to divert via Chester instead.
Im not sure. There used to be a trolley service on some HOWL services. And they are booked for 153s in the main.

67022 with the black DVT on the front. Not sure of the set as it passed at speed through Bridgend where I saw it.

No HD05 is out on a different diagram
HD05 is at Crewe for a few bugs to be ironed out, it's HD01 out too.

.HD01 and 67017 on a diagram that hasn't been a Mk4 before now but that's only to keep sets in the right place.
There was a 175 on at least one of the MK4 substitutions. The 1249 from Cardiff as I saw it.
Incidentally, the train I caught from Port Talbot Parkway was formed of 5 carriages. a 2 car and 3 car 175. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come and we see more 5 car formations. The guard was even commenting to other passengers how quiet the carriage was (only about 8 people in the front carriage) and it was because it was formed of 5 carriages not the usual 2 or 3. Fridays are normally very busy at that time so it was a pleasant surprise. I could have technically made the Manchester connection at Cardiff even walking from platform 0 to 1. But obviously it wouldnt be a 'booked' connection and would have been a bit tight.

That service is booked 150 so you were lucky to get 175s!
Very lucky! I did have to suffer a 150 on the Rhymney line on my return journey after going on the new 231!

Yes HD02 has arrived at Crewe.
Due to where the sets ended on Friday, Monday should see 3 sets out but will again see 0454 Crewe to Cardiff, 0849 Cardiff to Manchester, 1230 Manchester to Cardiff, 1650 Cariff to Manchester, 2030 Manchester to Crewe operated by a mk4 set instead of the normal diagram on the Manchesters. There's no set in Holyhead over the weekend so 05:33 Holyhead yo Cardiff, 10:52 Cardiff to Manchester etc will be unit formed.
The usual 3 diagrams should then resume on Tuesday.

This whole saga is a disaster for public confidence in a reliable train service on the Marches line. There is only one appropriate destination for these clapped out locos and carriages, namely Newport, specifically Sims scrapyard. It is regrettable that TfW did not buy some more class 197 dmus instead.
