What happened on the day, any update as to whether the gates were opened or not? :D
Opened once the previous train had passed. Tour train pulled in as about half the passengers had reached the platform.

Surprisingly the shutter between platforms 5 and 4 was open.

That is strange, did they leave them open for long? Did all the passengers make the train? Was the platform in a good state?

Yes, all passengers boarded. The platform is narrow and dark, but perfectly useable.

Wembley Central now has a single entrance accessed by a gateline (other than on event days when there is an extra entrance at the south end of the platform). The tour passengers assembled in the corridor between platform 5 and the gateline and walked down the stairs when allowed. Nothing particularly remarkable.

I assume the access door was closed again once they were confident no one was on the platform.

The shutter between Platforms 4 and 5 has been open for ages now. Apparently it is broken.

When I’ve used Wembley Central, sometimes the door to the platforms is closed, and sometimes it is open but with a cordon blocking off whichever of the two platforms doesn’t have a train due to call.

Platforms 5 and 6 are quite desolate and also look to be the home to many pigeons!
