Yes, you are probably right, but there is always Manors Station, a totally open, unmanned station, about 1 mile from the main Newcastle Station, so anybody wanting to view the sleeper could go there ... it's just not on my 'to-do' list in the middle of the nightSurely the station must be shut by then anyway?
I guess by virtue of it being a Sleeper it's only to be expected for it to pass through stations mid journey in the night time!

Yes, Newcastle station usually shuts some time after 23:00 and re-opens around 04:00. For arrivals after 23:00 passengers are escorted by staff from the train to the exit.Surely the station must be shut by then anyway?
The Euston departure is why it takes so long. It has to get to Wembley, detach a loco, then wait for a path for the slow crawl via Primrose Hill and Camden Road to reach the ECML. The loco that hauls the empty stock into Euston hauls the train from Wembley on to Scotland via the ECML, the loco at what would normally be the Scotland end of the train only hauls the train to Wembley and is detached, not uncommon for that to be 87002 during the Mk2/Mk3 era.
Maybe there's a Block To Electric Traction (BTET) through Carstairs - that's almost certainly where the possession is.

That change hasn't filtered through to RTT yet, or even to the CS website.
I supect that the platforms won't be long enough at Finsbury Park....and that using selective/local door operation there would involve a long platform occupation at a very busy station, but I'm open to correction as always.
