Hi there,

I live quite local to the route (and have used it today). I noticed that the 150/153 diagram was using class 150 no. 150 003, but I'm unsure about which class 153 it was.

I hope this is helpful

Just interested to see how the unit allocations change on this service, every time i go to Birmingham it always seems to be same 2 units working the service.

I know it ends at Worcester on a night, it will give me some idea as to what Worcester actually do with the units ie split them or put them on same service next day.

It was 153366, caught it on the 1457 Snow Hill - Dorridge

It smelt of glue or some other solvent inside

153366 and 150010 today.

Aye, I can confirm that. I just spotted them at Cradley Heath (at about 16:20-ish). It puzzles me why they seem have put the 153 with the Network West Midlands blue class 150's a lot recently. It's not an overly aesthetically pleasing match, it must be said, but then again, London Midland Grey/Black/Green livery with the Central Trains green 150's doesn't look fantastic either.

I wont be on the trains tomorrow, so I wont be able to help then, but I'll keep my eyes peeled on Friday.

Cheers

As far as I could tell, it was 150 001 with the 153 again, but I couln't see it properly, it was observed from a coach window. It was a green class 150 with a centre coach, as opposed to a 150/2 wedged in the middle, so it narrows it down to 001 or 002. I couldn't see the numbers unfortunately, so it may seem a bit vague, but it leans towards it being the same formation as yesterday.

I hope this helps.

There is a way of telling the difference without seeing the number. One of them (can't remember which one) has yellow sliding doors for the driver's cab while the other has green

Hi folks,

Yeah, I had spotted that with 001 and 002. I wonder why one has yellow doors and the other hasn't? Strange! I think the reason I couldn't tell the difference because it zipped past at a fair pace and class 150s aren't known for being the easiest things to see out of at the best of times (I suppose that's what the 153's for!).

Because I'm off college now for a fortnight, I won't be able to keep an eye out as I wont be using the trains much, but I'll keep them peeled if I go anywhere near the Snow Hill lines on my travels :)

Cheers,

and also does anyone know what class 150 units are forming the 5 car service today as well.

Am i correct in thinking that 150002 and 153354 will operate on the Snow Hill services all week now, and the five car class 150 does that get changed daily or will that be same ones for rest of week??

As far as I know there is one permanently coupled 5 car set for the week and there is a peak hour 5 car set that gets split up for individual duties.

Today whilst in Birmingham:

153354 & 150011 operating the usual Stourbridge - Dorridge.

153334 & 150016 operating this diagram today:
0636 Birmingham Moor St- Dorridge
0709 Dorridge - Stourbridge J
0814 Stourbridge J - Whitlocks End
0919 Whitlocks End - Gt Malvern
1134 Gt Malvern - Whitlocks End
1319 Whitlocks End - Gt Malvern
1530 Gt Malvern - Whitlocks End
1715 Whitlocks End - Kidderminster
1838 Kidderminster - Dorridge
is this a new thing for a 153 + 150 on the above diagram, usually the only 153 + 150 i see is the usual one on the Dorridge - Stourbridge.

Class 172s on Tyseley today:

172331, 332, 333, 337, 338 & 341. 150005 was being reformed back into a 3 car set, after running round as a 2 car set for the last week.
