Two days in a row now I have trod in dog poo that was hidden under leaves.
Some people simply can't be bothered to pick up there dogs poo, they should be fined (as of the law) £50-1000 however it is not enforced/ is not enforced well enough.
If you can't be bothered to pick up the poo you should not own a dog in the first place.
People should be able to enjoy the scenery on their county walk, not looking at the ground for dog poo.

But what if it fell on a person's head that diligently puts their dog's poo in the DOG bin every time. The rule is not very enforceable as it involves one enforcer having to see a dog go to the toilet in order to slap the fine accurately rather than one seeing a dog next to someone else's toilet.

I once saw a blind person picking the poo that his guide dog had deposited on the pavement.

So if a blind person can do that, there is no excuse for anyone else.

But as with so much else in life, there are always people who think the rules don't apply to them.

There is an alleyway between 2 streets near me where there are loads of bags with dog poo in, just dumped on the ground. Why? Surely, you've done the hard work by picking it up in the first place. Why then just chuck it in an alleyway?

But indeed, it really does get my goat. If you have a dog, its not too much to ask to accept the responsibility for its bowel movements in public.

As a dog owner it's really frustrating since I often end up stepping other dog's poo when I'm stepping into an area to pick up after my dog, in some cases stepped in it when stepping off a path to put my dog's bag in a dog bin and someone has let their dog do its business in front of the bin.

Easily distinguished by the berries and slightly red tint I have found, for foxes.

There was an Aussie radio station interview someone shared in a WhatsApp group a while back, where the radio host admitted to doing a no.2 in a park at 6am while desperate, then a dog came running over and their owner mistakenly believed the dog "did it"

Yes, hundreds of them in the Epsom area. In recent years they seem to be using larger bands than previously; they used to be red coloured ones about 5cm long but now they're beige coloured ones about 15cm long.

If these were all returned to the depot by each postie after every round, the Royal Mail would probably save a large chunk of their daily losses!!

Councils are often to blame for human p** and p**s in the wrong place - due to Goverment cuts, they have closed & demolished a very large number of public loos. Where are people supposed to "go" if they are a long way from home and all the shops are closed (or devoid of toilets).

In my experience if she does do business in leaves and not keeping an eye it can be an absolute nightmare if not impossible to find it/them.

From this dog owner's perspective, I despise those that drop food, particularly discarded fried chicken bones, for her to find.

I don't know how Royal Mail get away with this. I like my postman in all other respects but I regularly find his litter on my drive, or on the front pavement. I am surprised he's not been fined by the council for littering.

I collect his litter and return it to the Royal Mail via the post box.

Around my local area it is rare now to find dog 'doings' and I can't recall not seeing them being picked up. Further any 'doings' I do see could be foxes etc. There are plenty of bins too although more in the summer occasionally they are overflowing. There has been the odd bag tied to a tree or hedge branch

Adjacent to a playground is a circular shelter with a bench around the inside. At most 3m away is a bin although behind. However rare for there not to be can, drink plastic bottles etc on the ground around this shelter.

I've not seen many Royal Mail bands recently, mabe a mix of being larger but also less noticeable than the red ones. I have only been once over several months but around the local Delivery Office, which is on an industrial estate, there used to be loads of them.

Well said. The Council / Government cuts are certainly an issue but so it vandalism and misuse.
Now often nowhere in small towns / large villages, parking / picnic areas etc.

I can't recall where now but on holiday this year several signs still pointed to a car park that had been relocated for development including the public loo block demolished but no replacement built ...

I would class not keeping an eye as lack of control, all the dogs I have ever owned apart from when a puppy have been regular in doing their business.
One can teach a dog so much but in general it is the owners that need it the most.
Luckily my current dog drops her ball when doing her business and will not pick it up until I have picked her poo always within inches of her ball.
