I see some potential in the Holyhead/Ipswich service, because like the Norwich/Liverpool train although most people don't want to go end to end it's still gonna boost some other frequencies and passengers will use it for small sections.
BUT
We don't have the stock firstly, and secondly the route would take ages running via Crewe/Nottingham I think? There is too much scope for delay and that parallels the Liverpool train from Ely to at least Nottingham and both would be empty.
I'd rather see the Birmingham/Stanstead either lengthened or half hourly or FCC services to Grantham to give more than one train an hour to Peterborough and for electrification on odd sections such as uckfield/Marshlink/West of England to send the DMUs up to eliminate pacers. :D

Also i think the Signalboxes on the North Staffs are on limited hours.

Only because NR won't pay to open them longer, if the cash was there or someone was willing to pay for it then they would open. Most signalboxes are the same, the LOM has to keep to a budget and if he can shave times off the opening hours they will.

The service I thought would call at Bangor, LLandudno jct, Rhyl, shotton(request) Chester, Helsby, eccles, Manchester picc, Stockport, Sheffeild, Nottingham, Grantham, Peterbrough, Ely and Ipswich.

If it was to call at helsby it would have to be a five car HST with 1 carriage and the two power cars sticking out the two ends of the platform. I dont think it should call at warrington as central has the service from liverpool. (same with oxford rd).

I also thought to do one service a day to llandudno(calling at deganwy non request) from Norwich and A service back to norwich using two 156s (no 158s available!) one terminating at nottingham.

Obviousley some services cut short to maybye landudno jct and chester. And services cut short to ely nottingham and manchester.

Or you could just stick with the Llandudno - Manchester, and maybe have an additional Manchester- Nottingham stopper

I'd split the Liverpool=Norwich at Nottingham, with 4 car Trains on Liverpool-Notts section. Why waste Voyagers when they wouldn't be able to do the Voyager speed 125mph.

Liverpool-Leamington Spa, pointless, unless the service continues to the South Coast via Oxford.

Wonder if extending some trains [Peak Hour trains] the Bristol-Manchester line to Liverpool via Warrington, increasing the capacity on that line, could then terminate some EMT Trains at Manchester?

I thought though to supplement an extra serivce to birmingham, to give passengers travelling to the south coast a less crowded connectyion away form new street.
You could think of it as a shuttle in a way but doing nearly all stops. would call at edge hill, south parkway, runcorn, winsford, Crewe, stafford, penkridge, wolves, New street, Marston green, International, coventry, Banbury and leamington spa.

Could think of it as a local stopper as well. Also gives crewe more cross country services as there is about 3 a day!

I wonder whether any of these proposed new services will stop at Rugeley Trent Valley

It would have to be limited and be one train a day from liverpool calling at all stations to stafford then will call at Rugley trent valley, Lichfeild trent valley, tamworth, Polesworth, Atherstone, Nuneaton,Bedwoth, Coventry, Leamington spa and banbury

Terminating at Banbury from the north is cack presuming you are now going there after Leamington (not before it) and the old chestnut about diesel under the wires comes in too. You would never find a path to Leamington if this is an extra service anyway.

As much as the others weren't being serious with this one unless you missed the point of an old thread then this is even worse than the other proposal ! You'll need a new bridge at Polesworth and crossing the entire WCML at Nuneaton isn't the best idea.

So two trains an hour from Manchester Piccadilly to Ely? That means the hope valley line will become worse and I don't know in much detail but Man Picc only has two through platforms is it? That's more pressure and at PBO. If you combined the services at Ely and Split at Man Picc that might be more attractive. But can you join and split a service on route?

If it wasn't for the fact that Alex is a unisex name I would have thought it wise to not suggest both genders for a partner...

I am curious to know if there's anything behind the proposals other than 'I like these trains, and I want them on these services'.

Its just personal opinion mate.
Im starting to think that this is going to turn into a big argument about "I dont like what ATWalex101 says so its stupid"

Most of the responses have been discussing why they're not viable for whatever reason. Just because you don't like the responses doesn't mean everyone's against you.
