Still haven't heard anything (test day 16th) getting nervous now even though its only just over a week and we were told 7-10 days I think?! Also heard back from GTR about tests so need to know how I've done here before I can do anything
When you say heard back, have you been given dates to do them or already sat them with gtr? If so when did you sit?

Don't fret until you've got the email. We have no idea what the criteria or scoring system is. You may of low points on one and high points on another anywhere inbetween
I think it’s the strangest of tests when it mentions you don’t get penalised on wrong answers. In my opinion it shows they are happy for a future driver to make mistakes checking systems when fault finding. Instead of being correct and consistent?

What it most likely means is that you won't lose points for wrong answers.

Question about the WAFV if anyone knows - does the square sometimes flash dark multiple times in a row like it does in this YouTube video?

If so, is it a click each time it comes up, or only when it changes from light to dark?

I think you've read it wrong.

I don't think it means if you've got any questions wrong then so be it.

It means if you've answered a question incorrectly but then identified the correct one such as you did B but it was wrong so you then chose D which was correct you won't lose points for B as you corrected yourself and identified your mistake.

Obviously you can't just go shading every answer as they'll all be technically correct and won't lose any points.

But then you don’t have an incentive to ensure they are all correct. Which will naturally slow you down.
Except you do because the more correct answers means the more likely you are to pass the test. If the criteria was 20 correct answers and you only got 15, you don't lose any of the points, but you don't pass either because you didn't meet the mark required.

I think you've mis-read it.

Think it's more designed as an incentive to quickly rectify your own mistakes
That makes sense and probably will be an important thing to remember on the day. Thanks for clearing that up for us!

Speed and accuracy are what these tests are all designed for.

If your incentive isn't to get them all correct with marginal errors then you're not accurate enough meaning you probably aren't what they are looking for.

Speed & accuracy. Neither is more important than the other

The examiners told us that if you don't reach their required level that's one of your chances. So with avanti you'd only be able to apply once more and have to wait 6 months.

That being said I don't know it works with other TOCs as enhanced is what they deem it so as you said National with one could be enhanced with another.

This sounds like this is something specific to Avanti... i.e you get 2 chances at passing their tests and that's it.

However if you pass those tests to at least national standards then they are valid for 5 years, although some TOCs only accept them for 2 or 3 years after you've passed. The main thing is you haven't lost any 'lives'

If you go on to apply for another TOC which requires enhanced pass and you achieved a national pass, you would be allowed to retake them to try and get that enhanced pass. But results overwrite.

Exactly... you have to weigh up the risk of getting a better score or failing it altogether and losing a life. If you're already in a talent pool then it becomes even more of a risk.

Interesting only 3 people have had their results (or posted about them) and only 1 full pass.

Well another day goes by. Hopefully tomorrow ladies and gents

I've got my Stage 1 assessment on the 1st December - having read other people's replies, it looks like that may be the last day they're running the paper tests! Best of luck to everybody still waiting on their results.

Congratulations to all who passed so far! It feels pretty crazy that while people are getting dates for their computer assessments that I've not even done my first ones yet. I imagine this is where people are going to start dropping out of the process through failure or unwillingness to carry on. Based on the postings I expect the computer assessments will be going on through December to January assuming Christmas and New Year will have an effect.

Congratulations to all those receiving pass emails.

I’m still waiting, looks like nothing until next week now…
