Lots of trouble getting from Stapleton Road to Bath Spa and back this afternoon. Delays and a sudden platform change at Bristol TM.

Despite the farcical level of over-engineering of the GWR OHLE system!
Although wouldn't the wires at Hayes be the older type which was originally installed for Heathrow with the "nuclear blast" proof wires starting from beyond airport junction?

Yes, the Hayes wiring was the type where all 4 wires were hung from a single wire, and therefore in that case all lines out of paddington were closed. The disruption yesterday seemed to only take out the fast lines, at least when I was watching on RTT.
Points failure blocking the relief line just outside of Paddington at Ladbrook Grove blocking Down Relief line today, GWML isn't having a good time at the moment.

Including strike days and late start the days following a strike we've had 6 days worth of disruption on gwml

Due to the reliefs being out of action Liz line services are running on the fasts to Hayes.
Low level Paddington is very busy with announcements that trains will not call at Ealing or Southall (even though they are calling at these stations).
