The BLS are reported to be running a Chilterns tour with 50008 and 31128 TnT, I'm sure details will either be along very soon or are around already

We are delighted to announce a seasonal loco hauled exploration of the Chilterns, with a number of unusual lines added to the mix. For the track enthusiast, the highlights include Dn Arley Goods Loop in the Up direction, Banbury Dn Goods Loop in the Up Direction, Hinksey Yard, Gerrards Cross Dn platform in the Up Direction, Old Oak Common Engine & Carriage Line, Dn Bordesley Goods Loop and Up Washwood Heath Goods.

Really like the sound of this tour. My only nitpick is the very early start & late finish, which in December means you'll be losing out on quite a few hours of daylight especially if you require track!

Sounds interesting. Debating between this and going to see/riding on a 313 farewell tour, which will most likely be around the same time. Prices seem alright for the unique traction, although as Oliver said, bit of an early start and late finish

A change of loco plans has been announced, 31128 is no longer available as its owners have secured a long term hire contract elsewhere, Loram 37418 will now join 50008

Tractors are great n all, but the appeal is largely lost without the 31 on the main line. Its been a few years since weve seen one in action...

Can't really blame the 31 owner for taking much longer and more secure work with Network Rail, which will keep it funded on the mainline for longer. Of course it's a shame for those booked on the tour, but a 50 and 37 is still pretty decent.

Railtours are often becoming a case of buyer beware and the number of times that the prospective railtourer is getting shafted is increasing.

Anyone looking to travel on this tour should check out the new date, it is now booked to run on Saturday 14th January due to the planned industrial action on 17th December meaning it will clash with the already re-dated 'Class 56 Farewell Tour'
