Southern Class 313 withdrawal/storage/scrapping updates

Hello, I will be travelling to the South Coast on Friday (11th November) and was wondering what the current situation is with 313 diagrams. I am hesitant to trust the Part time spotter team diagrams as they have not been updated since April, so thought here would be the best place to ask this.

Any help is much appreciated

Nice one - now you have really upset the main man and ruined it for everyone else <(

If you care to read the disclaimer on his website, he posts in good faith and he makes no guarantees that units will stay on or stick to diagram

FYI, I have copied and pasted his disclaimer here...

I feel is is only right to write a disclaimer regarding the allocations I post.
I research the allocations at about 07:30 in the morning therefore it means that is any changes to the allocations happen after this time I’m not aware of them.
All the allocations I post are subject to short notice cancellation, delays and diversions.
Warning: Some units come off diagrams mid way through and on to others. IF this is shown when I look them up I will show it here, if not then it’s done during the day after I have posted these.
Units can also come off diagram if there is a fault or failure and the units has to be swapped out.
GA tend to have the most swapping out of the 755 fleet whereas the SE fleets have breaks between the peaks. Sometimes the units do both portions (Morning and afternoon peaks) but quite often other units are used.
All allocations are posted in good faith.

I have seen I have not thought this through particularly well, and I want to apologise for my badly worded post.

I genuinely did not see the disclaimer, I was merely wondering if there had been any changes to the diagrams, since there has been two timetable changes since then. Saying I did not trust it did not come from any malicious intent on my part, neither did I mean to upset the people who run the website, If they see this, I really truly am sorry, It was a poorly thought through comment, and I wholeheartedly apologise.

It’s a wonderful site that we all very much appreciate. Having said that, it’s very important that people realise it’s written by another person with a busy life like the rest of us, and that anything posted is done voluntarily out of kindness, and therefore is a bonus/privilege on what we would otherwise have, especially as access to the blog is free!

The diagrams have no need to be updated if they’re not changed. It is the allocations that matter, and these are posted daily. However, you can - as said - find four 313s working on Portsmouth Littlehampton stoppers, one on Hove shuttle and three on Seafords on Fridays.

Just for clarity - allocations are not posted at the weekends or on bank holidays or strike days. The team need time off like the rest of us busy folk !

Quite so.
Does anyone know if the recent sighting of a 377 on what is typically one of four 313 diagrams on the Portsmouth - L'hampton - Bognor - Barnham - Bognor - L'hampton - Portsmouth circuit has become more regular? AKA, a move towards booking one of the diagrams for a 377.

Thanks, will keep that info in mind when I go down on Friday.

With regard to the website, I realise that now! Its a shame what happened, especially as it was 100% avoidable and 100% my fault, but I hope we can move past it, as it was an honest mistake.
Can't say today's been one of my proudest moments!

I noticed this on a Saturday a couple weeks ago and wondered the same, or if it was just a substitution?

Therefore, just to reiterate the points above, allocations can change at any time, with or without notice :s

I wouldn't be surprised; it will be in GTR's best interests to get the usage of the 313s down to as little as possible, and that way they can bin them off as desired.

At the moment NO 313s are officially withdrawn. Some are stopped awaiting spares.

I'd also like to offer sincere thanks to Part Time Spotter for his allocations. They've been beneficial when chasing the ever-elusive 313201 which has a habit of avoiding me like the plague. Now the 323 allocations are coming in handy, too. Thank you, Part Time Spotter.

Back to 313s, I've found over the years that any diagram can and will see 377 substitutions; nothing is sacred in 313 terms. Prudent on the Portsmouth semi-fasts where the extra capacity and amenities the 377s offer come in handy, but 377 subs on the Hove shuttle seem a waste.

Speaking of which, why is the Sunday Hove shuttle invariably a 377? Does it work onto or from a Portsmouth or Southampton working?
