Hello everyone.

I remember finding a PDF or web page with ÖBB that provided a crystal clear overview of the different accommodation tariffs for Nightjet trips. Does such a thing still exist?

I'm planning a group trip with a bunch of students holding Interrail tickets, so I just want to know what the couchette / sleeper reservation costs are, without going deep into the search engine.

Many thanks

The reservation on top of an Interrail pass for one bed in a T3 sleeper (shared with 2 others) cost me € 74 last summer.
No idea about other surcharges however.

The price tends to vary depending on demand and on the length of time from booking to travel.

And obviously the price depends based upon the type of accomodation/number roof people sharing with.

Thanks for the quick replies. I was sure I'd seen an ÖBB webpage which outlined the starting price of each accommodation type (on top of the fare).

Yes/NO: depends on what you are looking for exactly. This is the normal brochure that gives only FROM prices without passes etc. (in fact the Austria Vorteilskarte=Railcard does not even seems to be of any advantage (not sure how it works).
For as SURcharge on passes (of course these need to be valid over whole length of trip)-in the community.eurail, all in €: seat 14 or 15, couchette (forgot if that was for 4 or 6) 24/25, real sleeper-only as normal 3 in comprt: could be that 74, perhaps 69. It seems that the really de-luxe private compartmts will not be done away for a shilling to these nasty passholders, not even if they hold 1st cl. Anway-these seem to be snapped up as soon as released.
DO note that Austria is famous for winter-skiing and in that season most beds/couch. get snapped up very fast.
To compare roughly : a bed in a hostel in west-EUR will also cost around 20/25€ for members, but will give much more in comforts.

That's the price of the ticket itself which varies, the surcharge on top of an Interrail pass is a fixed surcharge. Doing some trial bookings I'm getting the same surcharges for different dates in the future, the only difference being availability.

And now I'm in the booking module anyway, little effort to prepare a list of surcharges:

Komfortticket inkl. Reservierung* (1 seat)€ 14,00
Private compartment in seated car (for up to three passengers)€ 14,00 + € 95,00
Couchette compartment 6 beds€ 14,00 + € 20,00
Couchette compartment 4 beds€ 14,00 + € 30,00
Private couchette compartment 6 beds (for max. 3 adults)€ 14,00 + € 225,00
Sleeper compartment 3 beds€ 14,00 + € 60,00
Sleeper compartment 2 beds€ 14,00 + € 80,00
Sleeper compartment 1 bed€ 14,00 + € 130,00
Sleeper compartment 3 beds with shower/toilet (deluxe)€ 14,00 + € 80,00
Sleeper compartment 2 beds with shower/toilet (deluxe)€ 14,00 + € 100,00
Sleeper compartment 1 bed with shower/toilet (deluxe)€ 14,00 + € 150,00
*) This is the basic reservation fee you'll always pay.

Do these prices apply across all routes? - from recent attempts ISTR that there was a variation, but that may be because I was checking internal routes. I presume the OP is looking at the Hamburg route?

I've just checked a few routes: from Vienna and Innsbruck the supplement fares are the same to both Amsterdam and Hamburg. Vienna to Zürich as well and Berlin to Zürich also.

The variations that I've seen are in the surcharge for private compartments which seems to be more expensive on the Amsterdam/Hamburg services and cheaper on the Vienna - Zürich service.
But fares for couchette or sleeper compartments in general are the same. Though some trains don't offer all options in above list.

On some routes, the sleeper supplements are €20 less.

That sounds familiar from when I was using NightJet at Easter. However, I'm sure we managed to get some reservations for €6 each?

There are a few NightJet services that carry a number of seating coaches that run as an intercity, e.g. Amsterdam - Zurich. Reservations in those coaches would be only €3 however.

Internal Austrian are certainly EUR6 (also from Buchs but not Sargans, oddly!).

Yes - the internal Austrian NJ services have a base 'Komfort ticket' price of €6 so are €8 cheaper than the international trains. I always take the Bregenz train if heading to Zurich to save a few quid

I take issue with your use of "always". We did Zurich-Vienna on the Zurich-Budapest(?) EC sleeper last Easter, not the Bregenz NightJet! (Though I suppose you could argue that your statement only applies to trains to Zurich... :D)
Having said that, I can't remember how much we paid for the EC, though I think it was less than NJ?

Tip: book to/from Buchs so long as you don't mind vacating your berth - not sure if the berth supplement is the same as the Bregenz though!

It’s not odd. ÖBB domestic prices start at Buchs since for ticket (and operational) purposes it is the border station and ÖBB are the legal operator from there. My Klimaticket is also valid from Buchs onwards towards Vienna.

There were issues with various trains selling out that night. That seems to be the main source of differences in price for NightJet - e.g. 6 berth couchette might be sold out but 4 berth not

Thanks, makes sense.

That EN is indeed cheaper than the NJ, the sleeper in any case.
