But if you've passed the paper tests and they've offered dates for computer tests, and you've responded to that email.
Why are they withholding on confirming those dates?
Doesn't seem very professional leaving people hanging on a response!

I’ve applied for TfW trainee train driver role in Cardiff on 1st, September. I have passed my psychometrics with Avanti before, and haven’t heard anything yet from TfW, however my application still states ‘shortlisting’, is anyone in a similar position to me and have heard anything from TfW?
I was lucky to even catch the email as soon as I did, I am public facing in my current role and cant use my phone. I just so happened to take a bathroom break and caught it. Hoped I was quick enough but as I haven't heard anything I wonder if I just missed out.

I passed mine in June, at least good to know that the status never changes.
I’ve emailed them a couple times for an update but they keep saying be patient really. But it’s been so long since that they could have at least given me some information.

Do you really think youve missed out because you replied in 43 minutes? Seems quite harsh, Im new to all this, do you really think youll have missed out because of that?
Whats the usual response time that people reply in for them to hear back, 43 minutes seems a bit harsh considering people are in work and have jobs where theyre unable to check their phone…
Has anybody had a rejection email from their initial application? I applied over a month ago now and not heard anything either way. With the amount of people that are at their stage one and stage two testing I would of thought they’ll be drawing a line under it soon as there’s only a limited amount of jobs with so many candidates put through already
I havent heard of anyone having a rejection email as of yet, anyone else?

Not sure if anyone knows here but I have a friend whos interested in becoming a train driver but has had his eye lasered 3 years ago, zero complications. Anyone know the rules for TFW as Im struggling to find anything officially relating to it online, or even rules for other companies too, can we potentially apply for the role or?

Ahh right, so you're waiting for a drivers manager interview. Perhaps they're not doing them until a certain point, I've been through that at my TOC. It's painful sometimes to wait, but you've got the hard bit in the bag already

It will depends on the depot you've gone for, it's a big recruitment drive at the moment so they won't reject someone who passes the sift purely on numbers though. After all, who's to say enough people will pass testing to fill all the positions? Not as if all trainees will start at the same time either, so until you get a response, stay positive

I'm just going off what I've read previously. There is people on here who got same email I did on Friday and have had their date confirmed today. However these people responded straight away or in under 10 minutes. If I don't get an email tomorrow I will be certain I've missed out. Just hope more dates will come up soon.

I think the standard is 5 years, but that may have changed to lower. Also no idea what TfW policy
I'm at WMT (LNR), after initial sift I was told I'd need to wait until everyone else who applied had done testing before DMIs would take place which was about 4 months. Imagine something similar with TfW in that they will arrange DMIs once there's a suitable amount through testing for the relevant depot
If you've been rejected at sift, then it is likely you won't receive anything, just be left behind.
I've received my 'congratulations on making shortlisting' on 12th October but have had no dates yet.
I did send an enquiry email about when dates would be as I had failed the computer tests with another TOC on April 20th (but now I am clear of the six months) but that I had passed two SJTs and a VSE testing (both sets were home based) plus the exam centre paper tests. I wonder if it scuppered it for me.
Just had an email saying sorry but all slots were full.
Within 12 minutes! Mental. I'm probably really going to struggle replying any quicker than a couple of hours based on my work.. My 12 minute reply time was a fluke. Even if I set an alert of some sort I wont be able to act on it.
