It closed in the 1960s. It had its own booking office and came out into the passenger subway where the lost property office now is. Part of its passageway is used for storing lost property,the other forms a fire exit from the goods subway. Until about 20yrs ago it still had a selection of 60s posters on the walls in various states.
Ahh, thank you for clarifying. Now you mention it, yes, it did have (and may still have) railway posters on the walls. It’s been some time since I was in it (when TM was evacuated due to a bomb threat) and I remembered the connection it has with the parcels subway (hence why I thought it was not used for passengers) but had forgotten about the posters. The presence of the posters means it was for passenger use. So sorry for getting this point wrong.
I remember using the Cattle Market Road exit (just to see where it went, I expect) and I'm fairly sure there was a ticket collector stationed there. This would have been in the late 50s or early 60s. But I thought it was an exit only.
