New lifts and stairs at Clapham Junction

Anyone know why its taking such an enormous amount of time to put in those new lifts and stairs to platform 15/16 and 11/12?

It seems like several years since they started, and progress just seems so slow.. and two sets of stairs, one on each platform, haven't even been started yet! I know its a tight and tricky location, but they big structural stuff has been up for quite a while now...

Was there yesterday, and just two workmen on site, endlessly tugging on a bit of wire... Sorry for the rant...

The reason it is taking so long is due to the amount of work that has be done under a line blockage. Due to Clapham being such as busy location the White Period is very short with only about three hours available by the time they get on they probably get a couple of hours work in. It's not that often that there will be abnormal Possessions where 27 or 42 hour T3 Blocks are available. But say will get some of the the Wessex lines in one block BML1 (Bournemouth Lines) then the RDG1 (Windsor Lines) will still be open for diversions etc. The Sussex Lines VTB1 Brighton's will have these blocks at different times of the year where the slow's are open & the fasts are blocked & visa versa. At no point is the whole of Clapham under a block. Daytime blocks as booked through the Green Zone Access Manager would be declined. It is a more of a complex job than meets the eye as the work will cover Wessex, Sussex, & Kent's area. All of these jobs have to work to a programme as inputted into P3R/P6 by a Project Planner the programme is agreed between NWR & the Contractor. As regards booking into T3 Possessions this can be arranged 1 to 2 years out. I am sure they are booking into every possible block.
