Fair enough, I'll make sure to practice the group bourbon a lot, have tried it a few times so far and it's surprisingly challenging to be both fast and accurate - on the day I'll aim for accuracy I'm guessing, hopefully they want to see accuracy over being fast and making a lot of mistakes lol

And yeah, hopefully the pack from TfW will contain good examples - I figure there's only so much I can really practice, I'll either be suitable or I won't be, simple as really.
You do have to reach a certain number of lines, but I don't think anyone knows the exact number, so you have to have a certain accuracy over a minimum number. This is how the testing that isn't multiple choice is scored, so dials and phone book are the same.

I don't subscribe to the got it or not, that's only really for the mmi/dmi I'd say. You can do plenty of practice and prep to pass the tests at least.

That’s the last thing you want to be doing, I’m in a similar boat to you so hoping it’s just standard all round to make like easier! Still waiting to hear back either way for Crewe and I applied day before you so just hoping they are sifting them from top to bottom rather than bottom to top else looking grim for me!
It seems a few here are in the same boat, for me the initial sift is always the bit I worry about as have no idea if I've put the right buzz words in my answers. I'm sure you'll hear back today, probably doing in batches

They are really busy. I seen them today. They are still notifying people. But they had assessments today, plus all the other recruitment. From my personal experience no news is good news.

Hi, I also applied to Chester on 20th—still says shortlisting but have received email saying I’m through to paper assessments. I already passed the assessments previously though so that could be something to do with it?

No news is good news in any case :)

Have you told them you already passed the assessments? I've been invited to testing but I'm same as you, I've told them and they said they'll get back to me but still booked me in on Thursday anyway.

I did send an email letting them know but no reply as yet. Hopefully they’ll get it before scheduling or maybe its different because I passed the assessments with them?

Cheers

I'm in the same position as you, I found out last Monday that I had got through the application stage, but I have already done my paper assessments and haven't been booked on to any assessments as yet, so don't know if I will have to do them again.

I think I've seen in a later post that you have booked onto an assessment day? Just wondered if I will have to do the same

It seems there are a few people being invited to assessment day that already have passed testing, I believe that's how the do it whilst awaiting confirmation of your scores rather than no book you in and then miss out on the next testing dates.

Hopefully I get a positive response today or tomorrow, and hopefully it will be similar for you too

Got an email saying I have made it through the first bit. This was for Cardiff.

'We are in the Process of NI and sorting out an assesment day...'

Maybe an odd question: but why is TfW hiring a lot of trainees at the moment (or at least, getting people into talent pools) - is it just a matter of timing: such as lots retiring/leaving or an expansion of services/frequency that requires new drivers?

They are increasing timetables, have the metro to recruit for also. They need 300 new drivers.

But also to cover what you mentioned aswell, no one is leaving off their own back. I'm sure one or two might, but once you're in you will realise it's very good. But retirement is taking quite a few drivers aswell.

Has anyone had, or heard of anyone having a rejection email yet?

Not yet but as most of the assessments people have been invited to are 5/6th October I would imagine they are waiting to see if they pass and if they have enough numbers pass then we’ll get the rejection emails. If they don’t get enough passes then they will sift through the back up candidates and invite them to assessment
