I applied a 16-25 railcard to a train ticket when mine expired years ago, wrongly. Been asked to send a picture of a valid one within 14 days to the Thames link website (or else). Only gave the inspector my name and address.
I did just try and purchase a new railcard but I’m 2 month too old. Is the following message okay to use to get out of it?
“Hi there, I was unable to show my railcard upon being asked at Blackfriars station. Not only have I lost it and thought it was still in date, but upon going to purchase a new one, I now realise I am too told to purchase one! 2 months too old! I sincerely apologise for this error and am happy to pay the difference.”
Please help me advising if this is the correct thing to do?
