What level of antisocial behaviour exists on your tram network?

Blackpool often beats that with two conductors per tram in the central area and sometimes all the way to fleetwood. :D
Having 3 is a fairly regular occurance too, if a duty is double guarded all day and a jumper gets on. I think my record is 5 conductors on one tram! Two conductors (I was one of them), one in training, and two jumpers (one getting off at Pleasure Beach to head back north and the other going back to depot)!

Sounds like this is a country with very low labor costs!

Nottingham trams have been pretty bad for ASB in my experience.

Worst I've seen was a guy going off on a racist tirade towards an asian man.

Lots of drug addicts tend to use it north of the city centre, although the area in general does have a lot of addicts too.
  • My partner was on the tram when a mother with her kid admitted she was high on crack.
  • I've seen a woman screaming and scratching at the door before running off down an alleyway.
  • I had a group of addicts sit next to me eating pasta salad with their bare hands.
  • Got off the tram once where half the occupants were heading to a mass deal (fives over here, tens over there!)
  • A man who didn't pay his fare was screaming and berating ticket officers - obviously very high.
There was also a guy with a crowbar in his backpack talking about all the robberies he had done recently.

Probably the worst I've seen on any public transport system! The tram seems to be useful for the crackheads due to not needing to pay the driver, so you can get on for free and then just intimidate the ticket inspectors after.
I've never had any huge issues on the Nottingham Trams - but I use it almost exclusively between city centre and Uni of Nottingham (and a lot less regularly now that I don't live hugely close to a tram stop anymore). I have seen a racist tirade before similar to what you describe and you can see who the drug addicts are that get off in the Meadows area.
More staff presence of late I have noticed (and the other day I noticed they've put up signs at Nottingham station warning people of plain clothes ticket inspectors riding the tram network). It's interesting though hearing the differences depending on which side of the city you're on!

North of the city is a lot worse - had to go buy a house here didn't I! South of the river seems very nice (West Bridgeford, Clifton) and round Beeston near the uni of is generally pretty good. Just really The Forest, Hyson Green, Basford, sort of area.

Only a few days after my first post I got mugged and threatened with a knife on my local park. Not led to me feeling a whole lot safer on the trams either to be honest, but at least they have CCTV and (if you sit near the front), the driver.

The buses, however, seem fine to me.

Just annoying as come winter (when it gets dark at 4pm) I'm going to struggle to feel safe being out and about...
