Seems more cancellations this week onto an already pulled back timetable. Evenings from Euston very badly hit

Are they? The only departure from Euston cancelled since midday today was the 1757 to Lancaster (the 1823 to Wolverhampton was also cancelled because it actually ran as a train to Shrewsbury in the same path) and a number of additional trains have run to Manchester and Liverpool this evening that aren't in the timetable but were advertised on Journey Check.

Think that there is a disconnect between what National Rail are showing and what Avanti have confirmed. The website says that the times on the evening of the 14th are inaccurate and to check "nearer the time" - ridiculously I am unable to book a ticket on the 2030 or 2110 EUS-WBQ on Wednesday 14th as it doesn't exist on there (!) , even though its on the confirmed PDF timetable for the 14th on Avanti's website. So I've only been able to book the outward journey to London for tomorrow lunchtime so far on an advance.

Its an extremely shoddy state of affairs at Avanti at the moment and hopes that things would improve after the school holiday period were clearly in vain.....

Twice this week the 5:50am Birmingham to Euston has been cancelled due to shortage of crew, and it’s only Tuesday.

Timetables have now been updated to reflect the correct evening trains- they seem to have done it on the National Rail site at just past 9am as was still not showing half an hour ago!

On the 7:10 from Euston to Glasgow which will has been sat at Oxenholme for an eternity already.

I think after this return journey the rails have lost me for good and I will be doing flying from now on.

It’s unsustainable for people to plan and organise their lives with such a **** show of an operator who can’t run trains on time

Now that will be interesting if true.

Something is needed to provide extra capacity if large numbers of people are wanting to travel to London.

I can see the hand of the DfT pushing this rather than it being something Avanti wanted to happen themselves. Or the new MD has had a big change of heart about how to deal with the current issues.
