I'm seeing that TV & radio are going to be disrupted for at least a week which is a disgrace. Are they really that deluded that they think people want to watch constant mourning and not get any escapism? Especially at a time where the cost of living is going up and things are difficult for a lot of people.
So it should, in my humble opinion. This is an event of utmost gravity for our country, and to be honest much of the world. As said, there are plenty of other avenues to "escape" it. The death of the one constant in British culture that hasn't been corrupted or ruined (I'm talking about the Queen herself here, not the monarchy) is something that deserves a prolonged period of reflection. It really will be the end of an era for this country, and I'm not sure we will completely recover from her loss.
