Hi looking for some advice getting from King's Cross to a big supermarket beginning and ending with A in Park Royal (sorry for being cryptic but trying to keep worlds apart).

Need to arrive during the evening rush and return to King's Cross for the 2133 or more likely the 2333.

Getting there I might just do the purple train to Acton Main Line and walk/ get a bus that takes me directly there.

Getting back late is there a best/easiest way and how much time should I give it?

I don't want to find I can't get a taxi at 10pm and don't know much about getting around outside Central London, especially out of the usual hours.

Have you considered the Central Line to North Acton and then the 260 or 487 from there? Alternatively it’s about a 20min walk from North Acton station to ASDA. The TfL journey planner will likely help you.

North Acton's a good shout, it's a 0.7 mile walk according to Google to probably around 15 minutes. From there take the Central Line to Oxford Circus and then the Victoria Line to Kings Cross.

Another way I quite like doing is to take the Central Line to White City and walk to Wood Lane station on the H&C/Circle Line (which is about 200m away). Slightly longer but has the bonus of less time on the Central Line! White CIty to Wood Lane is an out of station interchange so will get charged as one journey if you go this way.

If the Central Line is up the spout head for Harlesden which is 0.8 miles in the opposite direction and take the Bakerloo Line to Baker Street and then Circle/H&C/Met Line to Kings Cross or the Overground to Euston and walk to Kings Cross.

From Harlesden station cross the road and take any bus, they all call at Asda
Thanks, I used to switch victoria to bakerloo at oxford circus as it was easy- is swapping directions similar or is another inerchange better?

Any idea if I can do the reverse and which bus routes I can take? Or do the same routes operate in both directions?

I'm dont know why but I'm incapable of planning bus journeys and struggle with tubes too outside zone 1.

Is there an app locals use to get around realtime?

Thanks I worded my OP to my detriment. But now know the easy route there I think.

My main concern now is getting back setting off about 2200. Which where I live would be impossible. Can I reasonably get to King's Cross in time for thr 2333?

Edit: I might have misunderstood your post and when getting the map out they kind of need sense.

If I just use the tfl app and give a good buffer should I be fine?

The TfL journey planner suggests that at that time of night on a week night it will take 36 mins and there are Central line trains every 2-3 mins.

I think walking from KX to Euston and getting the DC to Harlesden might be better, if the weather is good.

You'll have no problems getting to Kings Cross if setting off around 22:00. Using the TfL app is absolutely fine.

There are so many ways you can make a journey like this.

Walk to Euston to Harlesden and back worked a treat with the bus there and back being so easy.

Paid £8 for a seatfrog 1st upgrade and on the 2333 now.

Good that it all worked out ok.

That 1st class upgrade sounds like a result.
