Perhaps @Ashley Hill might have an idea of progress with 25191?
I remember that they’d lifted one of the cabs off a few years ago and I don’t remember seeing it recently so I’d assumed that it was in the little diesel shed being worked on?

I’m rather out of the loop at the moment regarding the 25s. I saw 191 last week complete with both cabs on it so progress is being made. I’ll ask around next time I’m at Buckfastleigh.

I’ve no idea. I even didnt think it was named.

I believe both 25's were named after women involved at NYMR.
Both cabs were replaced a few years ago. This was always a long term project too fit in keeping our other 3 loco running.
Only today we were deciding what the next move will be - Turbo out and send away, generator will follow and we will give the power unit a top end overall.
The name plates are no longer carried.

There was so much damage that we had them fabricated from scratch on site, we maintained the shape by using wood framework, the guy that done it for worked the railway and done it weekends and evenings. it was not a cheap job, but worth it.
Our little shed you referred too (Private Loco Owner Group) was recently demolished before it fell down, so working outside.

Was at Buckfastleigh today so took a photo of 25191.

It’s a long term restoration but if a jobs worth doing it’s worth doing well.
