That answers why the rear (as placed on lorry) corridor door was missing and lower buffer beam appeared damaged. I was southbound so didn’t get a proper look.

I believe 31163 is the one that shared intimate space with 43054 at Chinnor
There’s no suggestion about it, it did give 43054 a Glasgow Kiss. 43054 is now in Leicester awaiting either the go-ahead or probably a hefty insurance payout. I’m not sure of the condition of the TRFB (40728) behind it.
So, has 31163 gone for scrap or repair given the damage?
Repairs at Nemesis’s Burton facility I believe, luckily they have form in fixing bent and damaged 31s.

It's very, very unlikely that 43054 will run again.
As for 40728, believe that is being repaired.

43054 is dumped by the mainline at Princes Risboro today, still very dented.

Indeed, there is a photo of it there up on Flickr dated 15th October, looking rather forlorn. Can't see it running under it's own power again tbh.
