Does anybody know when the NMT's original yellow power cars will return?
Due to be going to Old Dalby soon for ETCS testing then a return to service apparently.Does anybody know when the NMT's original yellow power cars will return?
No. They don’t need the front end cameras for the on board monitoring kit to function.Do the power cars that are in temporary use have all the cameras and stuff on the front?
It was parked up just north of Darlington station last weekend.Do the power cars that are in temporary use have all the cameras and stuff on the front? It’s ages since I saw one about.
They don't have the front mounted cameras above the horn grille, they may be wired up to transmit forward facing imagery through the camera in the cab. Someone more knowledgeable should be able to spread some light on this.Do the power cars that are in temporary use have all the cameras and stuff on the front? It’s ages since I saw one about.
This is correct, 43290 and 43299 have cameras behind the windscreen which upload forward facing video imagery, although the Colas power cars which occasionally stand in on the NMT do not. They don't have the front mounted cameras above the horn grille, they may be wired up to transmit forward facing imagery through the camera in the cab. Thanks. It had just occurred to me to look for some YouTube coverage as well. They don't have the front mounted cameras above the horn grille, they may be wired up to transmit forward facing imagery through the camera in the cab. Just to add to this, testing is set to begin very shortly following the recent arrival of 4 Mk3s on loan from the 125 Group - they were delivered this week using 43048 and 43159.43062+013 are at the Old Dalby test facility already.
