From what I've heard - no.
Apparently Scanias are too big to fit in Kendal, so they'll be standard E400 integrals instead.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Or they might get all the tridents to replace the 2 leylands and some of the volvo olys, but we'll have to see what happens.

We reckon Barrow are expecting at least one to see off their last Leyland, and Preston will probably have a couple.

I thought we'd been through this?
12 E300s arrive in June to work the 3/4 (PVR 12). Displaced MANs will see off the B10Bs for certain, and possibly some B10Ms?
Sounds like some may be heading up to Kendal to potentially replace the M---VCW B10Ms.

Care to shott those guesses to pieces Gez, or get us guessing some more? :P
As for fleetnumbers, ballpark figure, 27720 upwards.
Oh, and while your teasing us, are we right about E400s for Kendal?

You'll have to wait and see what is in Santas sack

How about just the number of new buses coming to the NW this year? We need something to debate over lol! As I understand it CE haven't put in for anything, ME are going to get the 12 E300s as you said and KL maybe E400s. Not sure if Preston will see anything with the PB thing only just ending but not sure.

I think Michael is right in saying the B10Bs will go but some MANs will go elsewhere. I don't think ME will be aloud to be selfish and replace all their step entrance singles lol.

Also from what we have heard (which is very little) the vehicles for KL are going to be new rather then cast offs. Could be new E400s will a 6 speed gearbox for the route. Who knows (well. somebody knows...:p)

Another Solo Slimline would be good for Carlisle, but I can't see it happening. Vario 42672 has been given a fresh coat of paint, its seats have also been retrimmed, with the metal bits on the seats being painted blue!
A few upgrades on the Citi network would be good, but again I'm slightly doubtful. A few more LF's would be rather handy though. Would hopefully put an end to the need of step entrances on the Citi services. I know it can't be helped at the minute with various Darts missing for various reasons (34691 being rebuilt at Lillyhall, the other accident damaged Dart being repaired too. 33076 was in the bodyshop today, and 33161 has been missing for a while now). Withdrawn 16441, 16870, 20908/9 and 20977 have all been out and about making sure services can actually run.

16877 on schools this morning I think.
22825 did a 2 to the Uni then ran back into town dead. 18375 went from out of service onto the 2a at the time same.
22817/24 both on 2/2a
21007 on X1

Ticket inspector was out today as well.

Also this from the Preston Bus Website:

"Rotala Plc is pleased to announce the acquisition of Preston Bus Limited ("PBL"). The board considers the acquisition of the business to be a material step in the progress of Rotala and is exactly the type of acquisition we have been looking for. The enlarged group, post acquisition, will have in the region of 570 vehicles, employ 1200 people and have an annualised turnover of about £55 million.

This acquisition establishes a new hub for Rotala in the North West region and we firmly believe that there is further potential in the region for consolidation and expansion, both organically and by more acquisitions. Consequently Bob Dunn, a main board director of Rotala for some years and formerly CEO of Dunn-Line Plc, will become the Managing Director of the North West region of Rotala with full responsibility for business growth and development.

At the current time the bus industry is going through a phase of major uncertainty and change as a result of the Government's Spending Review and the operating difficulties caused by the huge volatilities in the price of fuel. Nevertheless it is our intention to invest in and modernise the current Preston Bus brand, whilst retaining its unique identity and values. Our desire is, as we have done with all our other acquisitions over the six years of Rotala's existence, to position the Preston business so that it engages closely with its employees, users and other stakeholders.

We welcome PBL into the Rotala stable of brands and businesses. We are confident that, building on the cooperation and enthusiasm of the existing staff and management, we can bring PBL out of its recent period of uncertainty into a new era of growth and stability which is beneficial to employees, customers and shareholders alike."

Nearly, there are 22, sorry but the registartions are not for public knowledge yet, but they are not PX60

As we are only 3-weeks off 11-Reg'd coming out, I say that there are likely to be PX11 or even MX11:idea:

18361 lost its belts this morning.

Only exciting thing I noticed was 35247 on 47.
16733 on 30/31 decker slot this morning with quite a few standee's. 35249 on 30/31 too.

Or PE11 or PN11 or PO11  More chance of them being registered from Preston than Carlisle, like the MAN Enviro 300's were (PO59's).

Gez has it been decided how many MANs ME will lose (assuming they will lose some) with the arrival of the new E300s or is it to early to say?

No worries! I take that some are definitely leaving and that we wont be replacing all of our step entrance saloons...

The new timetable for 79/179 Carlisle - Annan, 379 Annan - Dumfries, 80 Annan Town Service, 279 Annan - Carlisle, and 579 Gretna - Annan Academy, is available on the Stagecoach website.

The new Citi 76 timetable is also available. Extra running time now timetabled in, to improve service efficiency.

Unless I am reading it wrong, the new 76 timetable will have a PVR of 6 as against the current 5, with the luxury of a 9 minute wait at Cumrew Close - that will not go down well with passengers travelling from the city centre to points beyond the time point on the loop round the estate.

I forgot to post my sightings from a brief spell in Carlisle yesterday.
The Citi routes were all low floor, with 33076 on the 76, 33162 on the 62 and 34214 on the 67/68.
20924 on short 685s
47721 on 69
20907 and 20994 on 600
20977 on 93
20451 on 66

not Stagecoach, but interesting (to me, anyway) was Arriva North East B10BLE 4501 on the 685.

16338 was on the 103 this morning.

That is correct, PVR increase of 1. PVR increase really won't be appreciated with the current shortage of buses, leading to 16441, 16870, 20908/9, 20965/6 and 20977 all appearing from the reserve fleet. It should be helped a little when 34691 is rebuilt, with other missing Darts fixed up as well.
Either way, passengers will continue to moan. They'll moan that they've gotta sit on the bus on the 9 minute layover, but if the timetable wasn't adjusted to improve service reliability, they'd moan that it was running late all of the time.

Happens rather frequently. The DAF Prima's Arriva use are getting very unreliable. They also have an ALX300 bodied B10BLE that gets used on there. Neither are in good condition.
