Woodland's Road/Mosley St Closing Date?

Has Metrolink gave a official date on the closure of Woodland's Road and Mosley Street, ive read that it is this month but when?

The statutory consultation period ends this month, if the Minister gives his approval then they can close it anytime they want after that.

I came across this thread by accident but the Mosley Street tram stop closure has reached the "mindful to close" stage very recently, which is virtually the final stage before full approval is granted by the OfRR..

I was browsing in a charity event book stall and came across a copy of MODERN TRAMWAY, March 1987, Vol. 50, Number 591. It is about A5 in size. On page 92 amonst the letters, there is a very long letter from John A. Leatherbarrow. Hon. Chairman, GMTAG, about Manchester LRT plans. It makes very interesting reading when one now has the knowledge of how matters actually progressed. One of his comments is reproduced below:-

If the PTE think that Manchester's young hooligans will be deterred by teams of Travelling Inspectors and on-the-spot fines (which they won't have the money to pay), then they are being very optimistic. Fare evasion not a problem? Try asking BR!

The editor wrote quite a long footnote about this letter, with advice for the readers of the magazine.

Does anyone on this part of the forum remember GMTAG, Ken Child (Hon. Secretary) or John A. Leatherbarrow(Hon. Chairman).

The latest news is that it reached the "MINDFUL TO CLOSE" decision,which is the one prior to the final decision being made. Will that be for the OfRR to make?

I't not exactly far to the alternative stations really is it? I couldn't see the point in the station at all after the Piccadilly Gardens stop opened...

They may have budgeted for the demolition works in a different financial year...not sure, just my guess.
